- ALT3: ... that Smithsonian archivists are rediscovering the work of photography pioneer Louisa Bernie Gallaher after they were misattributed to her boss?
- Comment: This is my first DYK nomination, so I haven't reviewed another DYK. I'm also not sure if either image in the article should be included - one is low quality, and the other (linked above) has been described sometimes as being Gallaher[1] and sometimes as a "Portrait of woman believed to be Bernie Gallaher".[2]

- Welcome to DYK Whisperjanes and thanks for the excellent contribution. Its well written, the right length, its well referenced and its neutral. There is a bit of a prejudice about "first woman" hooks as they can be too frequent (could be caused by 1000s of years of blokes only!?). Happy to approve as is however but maybe a hook with "archivists are discovering the work of photography pioneer Bernie Gallaher after they were misattributed to her boss at the Smithsonian"? Victuallers (talk) 10:07, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Victuallers: Thanks for the warm welcome! I like your suggestion for a different hook (and, really, I'm happy to defer to anyone else's opinion here who has experience with DYK). One question - could "discovering" be changed to "rediscovering" in the above hook? It's a bit of a nitpick, but I feel like that word fits a bit better. - Whisperjanes (talk) 01:48, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have added alt3 including your mod. All good to go now and the picker can pick. Hope to see you here again Whisperjanes or at Women in Red. Victuallers (talk) 08:28, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Victuallers: Thanks so much! Hope to see you around too :) - Whisperjanes (talk) 03:03, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Victuallers and Whisperjanes: hi there! i'd love to use this image; but could we crop it some? It's hard to make out a lot of the salient details in the woman's face, which looks to be the central part of the image—thanks in advance! theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/she) 13:21, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Theleekycauldron: I have boldly created a crop and loaded it above. Nice to see her on DYK. Victuallers (talk) 15:47, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
