Why does 3XY redirect to 3EE?
Surely the old 3XY is worthy of its own article, covering its history up until the time when the rock music format ended? Or is it just a linking problem?
New logos needed
[edit]We need some new logos for the Fairfax radio stations we should keep the old ones as historical reference, We need new logos for i.e. 3AW, 4BC etc They need to be compliant with Wikipedia logo usage policies, and should be placed on the appropriate articles as Southern Cross broadcasting is no longerAdrian90 (talk) 08:08, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
New Title: Macquarie Sports Radio.
[edit]I have recently made a number of upgrades to this page to reflect the recent changes in format and name. It now needs someone with a bit more knowledge of Wikipedia to change the actual name of the page. I'm know there are many of you out there who can help.

Macquarie Sports Radio 1278 → Magic 1278 – Station has been rebranded per [1]. Yeraafirma (talk) 01:53, 22 January 2020 (UTC) —Relisting. BD2412 T 01:29, 13 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support per WP:NCBC. Raymie (t • c) 04:20, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- Technically oppose as the station has an ACMA-issued callsign: 3EE. That should be the name per WP:NCBC. Stereorock (talk) 03:03, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
- This is not an accurate interpretation of WP:NCBC. To quote directly, my emphasis in boldtype: "In places with a mix of call signs and station names, such as most of Central America, South America and Australia, the station name should normally be used, except when the call sign is more well-known." Heyitsstevo (talk) 05:41, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
- I agree with Heyitsstevo. It would be most confusing to change the name to Magic 1278. It would not be in line with the names of pages for other Australian radio stations. Perhaps there is an argument for removing most of the 3XY section to a separate page along the lines of 3DB and KIIS 101.1 but that is a discussion for another time - certainly not now. Albert Isaacs (talk) 23:39, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
- Albert, you've misinterpreted my comment. Per WP:NCBC, a page should either be titled by the station name (in this example, Magic 1278) or, if well known, its callsign (in this case, 3EE). 3EE is objectively not a well known callsign; it was adopted on air very briefly (less than a year if memory serves me correct) following its launch in 1994. As to your second point, I would support splitting 3XY into its own page, however as you mention that is beyond the scope of this discussion. Heyitsstevo (talk) 22:01, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

More re proposed name change.
[edit]When I made my earlier comment re the proposed reversion of this page to Magic 1278, I was unaware of the change of format. (My apologies for my ignorance.) Under the circumstances, there is really no alternative but to change the name of this page!
