My input for helping along this article
[edit]I think the photographs should be of equal size. To spare all the detail in the captions, try being more concise with the wording, and I suggest using the alt description as much as possible. A mouse-over should work better. I also think it would be best to take the names of band members who do not have their own articles as yet-- perhaps you can place a redirect to the existing article just for a more pleasing view, otherwise I can't see the page honestly reaching C-Status. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 12:08, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
1997 breakup
[edit]Just to be a completist, I wanted to jot down here for posterity that the '97 breakup happened onstage at The Bottom Line in NYC. I was there, and the band had just played a terrific set and left the stage. They returned - for an encore, we thought - and milled around a little aimlessly until Linda explained that the band no longer had a label. It's hard to explain what a difficult thing this was to grasp, right at the end of a lively, passionate concert. The bandmembers themselves seemed to have been completely blindsided by the news. They trooped on through an encore anyway. Thanks to the people who compiled this nice article about a truly great and under appreciated band. NewExLionTamer (talk) 00:32, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Merger proposal
[edit]I propose that List of Magnapop band members be merged into Magnapop. It essentially duplicates information already in the article that actually is presented in a much clearer way on the main page. Karst (talk) 10:36, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Karst: I think that it shouldn't be merged--that should be obvious from the fact that I created them separately. The list article allows for greater detail than the main article can give. What do you find unclear about the list? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 07:07, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
- Greatly appreciate the detailed work you have done on the article and the timeline on the List page is very useful indeed. I'm afraid that the rest of the article seems to be duplication of the main page. The written section essentially repeats the bands history and the listing of members is rather disorganised compared to the table on the main page. Although this is remedied by the timeline. Referencing is another issue. Five do not have a link attached while the popmatters one suffers from linkrot. The three most recent ones all have to do with a benefit of some sort. The two legacy interviews are interesting but appear to be WP:BLOG. I would be concerned that it would not survive an AfD that is why I suggested the merge. It would mean that we can integrate the timeline into the mainpage, which would be great asset IMHO. Karst (talk) 11:34, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
- Merge - this article is pretty much just duplication of info on the main Magnapop article. Ilikeeatingwaffles (talk) 14:44, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
