As Usual
[edit]Well his grandfather was a Sanskrit Pundit and he learnt ancient mathemtics Of Hinduism from him. So called christian biased people (who pretend to be sholar) will hate to let it be published anywhere. When somebody is Christian, these guys shamelessly mention it in every artcile, but when somebody is Hindu/Brahmin they make it an issue that such a thing is not mentioned. C V Raman, who was a solid devout Brahmin Hindu is shown as an atheist. In the end these people will fail and there attempts to hide such things will come back to expose them (their communalism/racism). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skant71 (talk • contribs) 08:05, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
Race is not Nationality
[edit]Manjul is not an Indian citizen and so cannot be treated as Indian in any sense other than the racial. It is silly to call him Indo-Canadian when he' s a Canadian/American dual citizen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.180.26.5 (talk • contribs)
- Does he have dual citizenship (US/Canada)? Sources please. --bender235 (talk) 20:15, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- There's definitely no source saying he's an Indian citizen, though, so it's silly that's stayed up. I can't find a citation for his dual citizenship but here's a citation for Canadian: http://www.aneki.com/top_living_mathematicians.html?t=Top%2020%20Living%20Mathematicians&slide=2 Crito2161 (talk) 16:07, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
- I just checked and the citation for his birth date also confirms that he was born in Canada and moved to the United States, and thus Canadian-American.Crito2161 (talk) 16:16, 15 May 2014 (UTC)

- I can see we are going to have trouble with this point. The infobox has just been updated with "Native name मंजुल भार्गव". I think we need to see a reliable source before we can include that. It seems rather unlikely that this is the native language of his birthplace, Hamilton, Ontario. Deltahedron (talk) 20:31, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- In the recently awarded Padma Bhushan list, by the government of India, he is said to be an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) and his country is given as USA. Manjil P. Saikia (talk) 12:56, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
Consistency Issues
[edit]Listing Manjul's accomplishments like a CV seems inconsistent with the entries for other mathematicians. This article should probably be revised to include only his major achievements, such as his thesis, the Clay Research Award, etc. Things like election to Phi Beta Kappa are insignificant in comparison. Etale 12:11, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed, this article seems promotional on tone. --Mark viking (talk) 20:52, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

R. Brandon Fradd Professor (comment)
[edit]"He is the R. Brandon Fradd Professor of Mathematics at Princeton University."
Does this mean he is a professor within the math department that is named after Fradd? It is worded in a way that is difficult to read. I wanted to post a message here on the talk page instead of changing it, just be sure. --Michael Powerhouse (talk) 17:20, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- It unmistakably means that he hold a professorship in mathematics established by or in memory of or in tribute to R Brandon Fradd. I corrected a typo in your heading. DGG ( talk ) 21:53, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

content to add
[edit]Typo?
[edit]In the infobox under his education, it says 'Harvard University (AB).' Is that a typo? It would certainly make a lot more sense if it was meant to say 'Harvard University (BA),' as 'BA' is the standard abbreviation for 'Bachelor of Arts'. Felixsj (talk) 10:02, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
