Eri?

Uh, I don't know whether to call vandalism or not, but there's no character info on Eri right now. I suppose I'll write up one tomorrow if it isn't vandalism after all. Also, a mention of the lesser playable characters would probably be worthwhile. 83.70.178.165 (talk) 01:56, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Blood in Metal Slug games

The 'Public Opinion' section stated that Metal Slug X is the only game in the series to use 'milk blood' - this isn't true. All of the games in the original line - from the original to Metal Slug 5 - can be set to use normal blood or 'milk blood'. I assume the original writer merely stumbled across a Metal Slug X machine somewhere that just happened to have blood switched off.

The Playstation port uses "milk port". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.253.64.213 (talk) 22:20, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Gameplay

Legend

  1. Score
  2. Vehicle health (if using one)
  3. Lives remaining
  4. Time left to clear current part of stage
  5. Bombs remaining
  6. Current weapon ammunition
  7. Score multiplier (numeral) (ms6 only)
  8. Score multiplier (graphical) (ms6 only)
  9. Weapons (selected/available) (ms6 only)
  10. Prisoners saved (resets at life lost or level completed)

One of these screenshots could be used to explain the gameplay (as larsinio pointed out). --elias.hc 14:30, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Vote

I'm starting a vote here for what image to use for the gameplay section. Voted can be for either image 1 or 2.

2 - Better quality (the png version is derived from a lq gif), no ugly borders, no irritating lines. --elias.hc 17:38, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
1 or a new one' - 2's numbering is too awkward, but i agree the image quality is low. We shoudl just take another ms6 screenshot and number it ourselves. --larsinio (poke)(prod) 19:47, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
I'd suggest either [1] or [2] then… Still I'm sticking to 2 and I'd very much appreciate to get to know another view on this. --elias.hc 20:52, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
1. I can barely see any image quality difference, and 1 is more representative of this series. --maru (talk) contribs 21:14, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
I agree that the screenshot - or to be exact: the scene in the game - is not representative for the series, but it doesn't matter because that's not what the screenshot is meant for. It's meant to explain the HUD, as 80.146.85.176 said, which is the same in every screenshot and there're other screenshots that show what metal slug is usually like. More should be added to the article about the series, though, the way I see it. --elias.hc 21:44, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
2.I think the second image is better cause you can barley see something in the first one. Its too small! The pic shouldnt represent the series it should explain the HUD :P 80.146.85.176 21:39, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Oldirt
2 . Second picture is more iteresting

Fair use rationale for Image:Mslug logo.png

Image:Mslug logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merge discussion

Disagree with it. More rapid fire merging instead of article improvement and expansion? That seems a bit rediculous. With the exception of Tarma all articles can easily be expanded with a lot more info and solidified with references, especially given the striker and fighter appearances for Fio and Marco and Mars People's appearances in fighting games themselves.

Promote info not footnotes.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 13:42, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Absolutely. --84.234.60.154 (talk) 19:42, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

I support a merge of both Mars People and General Morden into this main article. I don't think they can pass wikipedia's notability guideline without a merge. Even so, they're short enough that all the articles would be improved by keeping these topics together. Randomran (talk) 04:48, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Dominion tank police

Should there be a section in the series discussing the design of the metal slug and its possible inspiration from bonaparte from dominion tank police Or does the design have a common source for both series? They are pretty much identical in design down to the rear chaingun and tank's size. comparison pictures located here: http://www.flyingomelette.com/oddities/oddities15.html

Merge discussion

Someone left a merge template on the other page, but never opened the discussion here. That page consists of one paragraph, and the game itself apparently didn't amount to much. MSJapan (talk) 02:49, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

– Per WP:NCVG, the Metal Slug series has plenty of entries (see List of Metal Slug video games) to move the series as a whole to Metal Slug, and the first entry to disambiguator "... (video game)" soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 11:26, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Good call, @Gonnym:. I've updated the move request accordingly. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 07:59, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
@Hansen Sebastian: I think the WP:COMMONNAME is Metal Slug, not Metal Slug: Super Vehicle-001. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 17:40, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
