Requested move 1 June 2023
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. While the discussion was inconclusive as to which name is the subject's WP:COMMONNAME, a consensus emerged that the proposed title was more WP:NATURAL, leading me to find an overall consensus to move the article. Michael Devlin (footballer) → Mikey Devlin – Both versions of his name are commonly used in the media, but when both names are about equal in usage it makes more sense to use the natural title. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 16:33, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose - Michael is used more IMO. GiantSnowman 19:03, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
- Support per WP:NATURAL:
Using an alternative name that the subject is also commonly called in English reliable sources, albeit not as commonly as the preferred-but-ambiguous title
