[edit]I was under the impression that Harriet Tubman was a founding member — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:19C:5000:6560:71A0:6279:5EF8:4F3A (talk) 10:51, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
Membership #s both incorrect AND out of date
[edit]The membership number on the page for the NAACP is 500,000. The source it cites for this number says their membership is 300,000. Given that they've been losing members since the early 2000s notwithstanding any possible 2020/2021 spike, it's likely to be even lower than 300,000 now.
The membership number should be updated to accurately reflect the source it's citing until a more up to date one can be found. Their website isn't exactly forthcoming, which is understandable if they've been shedding dues paying members for a while. SneedPoster321 (talk) 00:20, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
Martin Luther King, Jr.
[edit]I know that the NAACP, and Roy Wilkins in particular, did not agree with Martin Luther King, Jr. on strategy and leadership. But it seems less than objective to mention the Montgomery bus boycott without mentioning him. Kstrejcek (talk) 02:11, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
achievements is misspelled
[edit]"The NAACP bestows annual awards on African Americans in three categories: Image Awards are for achievement in the arts and media, Theatre Awards are for ahievements in theatre and stage..."
I would fix it but I am not confirmed Pmxi (talk) 20:08, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

You are missing one of the founders of the NAACP- Henry Moskowitz. Even by your own content if you Wiki Henry Moskowitz you will see that you have him noted as one of the founders on his wiki page, yet on the NAACP page you do not list him as a founder. 76.71.135.136 (talk) 12:56, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

"Branches" NOT "Chapters"?
[edit]I was told by a leader of an NAACP local unit that they do NOT have "chapters". jcnaacp.org says it's "Johnson County Branch".
Does anyone have any other documentation on this?
I suggest we do a global find and replace "chapter" with "branch". What do you think? DavidMCEddy (talk) 04:31, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
