Has reading Nemi driven anyone to commit a frenzied goth-killing rampage yet?

Me and a few people I know have come close in the past, but haven't quite carried out.

Those are not translations by any stretch of the imagination. I read the strips in Norwegian, and the people at goaste seem to be deliberately mistranslating them, usually in a way that involves eggs. Occasionally even humorous. Or what on earth you'd call it -- why does the page contain rambling notes where the article author gives his/her opinion on Nemi's stance on animal testing? And who thought getting drunk in pubs is infrequent in Sweden, and why is that noted here anyway?

Tidied up some more--straightened out the English. BTW, Nemi being against animal testing and fur farming is a recurring theme in the comic, so it's not exactly original research to point out the obvious.--Snowgrouse 18:57, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Localisation

"A woman about 25 years old, living in Oslo"

Interestingly, the translated strips published in the Metro newspaper seem to imply that she lives in Britain (paying for things in pounds, etc.) AdorableRuffian 10:54, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

And strips translated to finnish she lives in Helsinki or some other city in Finland. But orginally she lives in Oslo. I dont get why they have changed the country and city. — linnea (talk) 06:10, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Just as in most translated comic strips, the hero is supposed to be local, unless his dwelling is a point, as in e.g. Hägar the Horrible. (Who lives in Norway regardless of the translation, though he is created in the US) Islander(Scandinavia) 22:59, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

I removed that line. Here in Sweden she doesn't pay tax to swedish gouverment, witch is little hard to do if she lives i Norway. I don't mind if you include that it is the local connection though, I could't write that myself. And I changed that she almost always wears black clothes. Sometimes she wheres white and gray. She lives in Norway. Lise makes very, very nation-specific comic strips about Norwegian culture, our welfare system, Norwegian politicians, and so on. Regardless of foreign translations, Nemi does live in Oslo, Norway. --Safe-Keeper 11:55, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

New articles for characters?

Should Nemi and Cyan and possibly one or two other characters get their own articles? Currently, 90% of this article deals with the character Nemi Montoya rather than the comic itself. Shouldn't this article be more oriented around popularity, content, writing style, history, messages, reception in Norway and abroad, and so on? Safe-Keeper 20:17, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

About Norway, Nemi and alcoholism

I erased the line that said, "as getting drunk at the pub is fairly common in Scandinavia and is socially accepted." This makes it sound like Norway is country full of pubs, and that people are always in there getting drunk. Nemi is an extreme in everything she does, and she'll be in a pub during the day time, on a weeknight, any time. She's fun, but she isn't representative of Norwegian drinking culture. --Hablahei 07:30, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

'More socially accepted than in many other nations' is a bit more fitting, if you ask me. There are a lot of drunks in Norwegian cities at nighttime compared to the number in, say, Germany. Scandinavia is like that. Also, it'd be wise to add, as you said, that most people don't get drunk in pubs during day-time. Safe-Keeper 20:20, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Different Artist ?
