A good faith edit's been made recently to add the middle name 'Gregory' which was undone (not by me) and then reverted back by the original editor.
Rather than revert again and risk any edit wars, thought it better to discuss it here and give information about the official UK birth register entry that just has 'Noel Fielding' with no middle name - see https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/information.pl?scan=1&r=250126078:1436&d=bmd_1595843552.
The original editor's source for the middle name is "Series 4, Episode 8". Taskmaster. 13 June 2017 (if anyone else wants to watch and skip the intro start watching from around 35 mins in). The relevant sketch is about Fielding's 'marriage' to a plastic duck - although the comedian officiating at the 'wedding' does say his middle name is Gregory, is this most likely a comedic reference to Fielding's character Old Gregg? He still mentions this character on his Twitter and Instagram intro, where he says "I'm Ol Greg mother Licker!".
--IndigoBeach (talk) 13:17, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply] Update: another editor has in good faith removed middle name 'Gregory' and I've removed the good faith citation for it. Please discuss here before reinserting middle name or reverting citation, and also give a more reliable citation for it, thanks!

Xyxyzyz has done some fine work adding referenced material into the article. Unfortunately an awful lot of it seems to be verbatim quotes from the subject of the article. I think much of it needs to be summarised. If there are particular quotes of significance that should stay, which would they be? John (talk) 13:30, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
