Pommeranian[edit]

I deleted the last sentence that connected Mecklenburgisch to Pommerian because these dialects have only few things in common and must not be considered to be similiar. On the other hand there is a connection to Vorpommersch (I have no idea how this dialect is called in English - West Pommerian?). Both form the dialect Mecklenburgisch-Vorpommersch. The other Pommerian dialects however have no similarities to Mecklenburgisch and Vorpommersch. --89.53.60.91 20:54, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mecklenburgisch dialectNordostniederdeutsch – I moved the German article de:Mecklenburgisches Niederdeutsch to de:Nordostniederdeutsch yesterday. This resulted from a consensus on its talk page. There were major doubts on the factual justification of the concept. Nordostniederdeutsch(garbage can)

Originally should have been moved to Mecklenburgisch-Vorpommersch = Mecklenburgisch-Vorpommersch dialect, because:

  • Single source (M. Schmuck, p. 35) speaks of "Das Mecklenburgisch-Vorpommersche".
  • Mecklenburgisch-Vorpommersch is a common term, occuring in many sources, e.g. HSK 30.4, Metzler Lexikon Sprache, D. Stellmacher ("Die ond. Dialekte gliedern sich in drei größere Dialektlandschaften, das Mecklenburgisch-Vorpommersche, das Mittelpommersche und das Märkisch-Brandenburgische.")

But now into the garbage can, because:

  • Oppose. Redirects should remain to preserve both incoming links and page histories. Nom [1] appears to have no understanding of the issues. Andrewa (talk) 22:19, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
