Wouldn't this form of oath have been required by Jewish religious teaching too? Surely the swearing of an oath by a Jew in a public forum - before God - would have been subject to the strictures of his own religion? I guess I'm just wary (and weary) of every different treatment of the Jews being listed as a form of anti-semitism.--Shtove 01:35, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Required when and where?

The sole reference given supports the statement that a special oath was required in some places at some times, but not the general statement that the oath was required "in European courts of law until the 20th century". 216.106.104.143 (talk) 22:51, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
