Fair use rationale for Image:OberonScreen.PNG
[edit]Image:OberonScreen.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

A2 Native Oberon article should be merged here.
[edit]The article on Native Oberon should be merged into this one. This article can have a section addressing each implementation environment. Any objections? PeterEasthope (talk) 16:12, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- I was going to agree, then I saw the timestamp and saw that you already did it, long ago. As such I am adding this suggestion: perhaps we should merge in the A2 article here as well? Liam Proven (talk) 12:00, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
Excessive number of citations?
[edit]The history shows that at 2018-05-11 user Accoun1 added the "excessive number of citations" template. A click on "Accoun1" in the history page gets a reply that there is no such user. Accoun1 is a robot? According to my recollection, there was a complaint some years back of inadequate citing of impartial sources. Now too many citations? I'm not convinced. Regards, ... I fully agree with Peter Easthope's remark. I remember also that some years ago there were complaints/tags that the article was lacking references, either {{unreferenced}}
or {{Primary sources}}
. Admitted, in the history section are two places with lots of citations (five citations at "to other hardware" and six citations in a row at "in popular magazines"). At least two of the references at "popular magazines" are referencing german computer magazines and may be omitted (or moved to a German Wikipedia article, but there is currently none about the Oberon OS, only about Oberon the Programming Language). I am in doubt if user Accoun1 is senior enough to add this tag, see his special account info, I am tempted to say that this is a kind of tag bombing. On the other hand I have no idea, how and where to discuss this, maybe an RFC should be added, but I don't know yet how to do a request for comment. I tend to remove the tag. - Disabling the tag and we'll see what happens. Stay tuned. Regards, ... PeterEasthope (talk) 18:02, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
Update website link.

Links and tone
[edit]There are some aspects that I don't think are appropriate on a Wikipedia article. There are many in-body external links and links to sister projects, which I thought are discouraged. § User interface sounds out-of-place for an encyclopedia, in my opinion.
