Question about place of death[edit]

America's Chess Heritage confirms most of the details in this article, so I added it as a reference. Korn says that Chajes died in Berlin, but the article says NYC. Do we know which is correct? Quale 05:27, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Jeremy Gaige confirms New York as the place of death in Chess Personalia: A Biobibliography. Since Gaige is a very careful and respected researcher, I suspect that Korn was mistaken. I'm removing the {{cn}} tag I put on the place of death. Quale 06:10, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oscar Chajes is an enigma[edit]

I have tried my best to find biographical information on Oscar. There is very little out there about his life beyond the games of chess. Kingturtle = (talk) 15:15, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
