Fair use rationale for Image:PhilTrust banner 408x71.gif

[edit]

Image:PhilTrust banner 408x71.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

No indication of notability?

[edit]

It is the third bank to be established in the Philippines, after Bank of the Philippine Islands and Philippine National Bank. It is the first private bank with no state-sponsorship, unlike the two older banks before it the Banco Espanol-Filipino under Spanish regime and the Philippine National Bank which was the state bank under American colonial administration.

The bank is one of the businesses owned by prominent Chinese-Filipino businessman, Emilio Yap.

I have edited the article to reflect this notability, and will continue to research sources to prove its notability. This is a well-established bank in the history of Philippine finance!

"Throughout its 96 years of banking service, Philtrust Bank has acquired a reputation for conservatism and reliability and has enjoyed the trust and confidence of the business community and the general public. This policy has been its guiding principle throughout its banking history.

Philtrust Bank has been consistently rated as one of the most outstanding banks in the country especially for its liquidity position. It is one of the few commercial banks without any local and foreign loan or guarantee obligations."

i will continue editing this article in the next few days, KEEP this article and DO NOT DELETE..

Ref 1 and 3 are dead. The newly-added refs by you talk about the banks acquisition by Yap. Ref 2 almost passes it as notable, but more references should be added. Raykyogrou0 (Talk) 12:41, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Raykyogrou0 so now i come to understand that your concept of notability is limited to having proper references, it just so happened that websites are not permanent on the web, so I am now adjusting the article to refer to archive of the articles referenced as they then existed.. for example: the archive of the 2007 September 17 article i think is sufficient proof that PhilTrust Profile in the "BancNet Archive" once existed, and I will try to find more links with similar effect.. which makes me wonder why is there a need for speedy deletion of wiki articles on Philippine banks? is it not more applicable to TAG these articles for MORE references instead of speedy deletion? it is NOT urgent to delete right? i am of the opinion for STRONG KEEP :) --—-— .:Seth_Nimbosa:. References don't have to be online, they can be obtained from printed newspapers or other secondary sources if desired. It's just that these articles don't have much references added to indicate or establish its notability. Raykyogrou0 (Talk) 10:10, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Naturally, you are always free to your own opinion. I'd like to point out that I didn't take this to AfD after it was deprodded because of the additional sources. Raykyogrou0 (Talk) 10:10, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
