– No clear primary topic. There is a dispute at Talk:Porsche#Porsche SE and Porsche AG split where the primary difficulty is one user's insistance that Porsche (disambiguation) be moved to Porsche concurrent with a split of the existing Porsche to Porsche AG and Porsche SE. I am supporting the move so as to enable us to determine through page view statistics whether or not there is a clear primary topic sought when a reader searches for "Porsche". I am proposing Porsche AG as the target for the current Porsche article as it will contain the bulk of the current content, and for history attribution purposes. Porsche SE will be created from a redirect using existing content from Porsche. BilCat (talk) 15:49, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am going to have to oppose this pretty strongly. If there is one article that "will contain the bulk of the current content," which I would assume means the general history of the company and its cars, that will certainly still be the primary topic. We can't go splitting topics with a single well documented history every time a company goes and splits into new companies. This is even more so where there's one article having the broader historical description. - WPGA2345 - 02:09, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment do we have an article on the Porsche body style? If it isn't the company, then it would be the bodystyle that would be the primary topic. (ie. the look of a 911, or Boxster, or Cayman, etc, that generally have the same lines) -- 65.94.169.222 (talk) 04:26, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose at present. The current situation with the articles is a complete mess and moving the disambiguation page will do nothing to resolve that. olderwiser 14:58, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. A better alternative would be to convert the primary Porsche article to a WP:DABCONCEPT article, listing the broader history and description of Porsche cars, and thus also have summary style sections of the new Porsche AG and Porsche SE pages. The Porsche page could be just the about the brand of cars, while the Porsche AG and Porsche SE pages are structured more like company articles (like Chrysler). Moving the disambiguation page would be least helpful to readers. Zzyzx11 (talk) 22:27, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • That's an interesting suggestion. Would you be willing to help propose it as a solution if this move doesn't pass? I personally don't have much experience with broad-concept articles, and I know I couldn't write one one this topic. (This is a request for help, not a pre-condition). - BilCat (talk) 23:58, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The article I found at Porsche is more or less what I expected to find. Srnec (talk) 16:03, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
