[edit]I am sorry to post here - I am not registered and I won't spoil the original article by my attempts to improve it. But there are a few concerns :
Prithviraj Raso is a literary work. One of the earliest Hindi epics - but its historicity is not proven. Mata Prasad Gupta, Cynthia Talbot & others have proven it.
Also, why mention the local mythology/folklore about Prithviraj's grave in the end ?
cheers

Prithbiraj's Grave in Afghanistan
[edit]I am quite happy that we are somewhere highlighting the condition of Prithviraj's grave in the present day Afghanistan (though not too sure whether it would ever reach the right ears). This holds true as there was an article by an Indian Express Journalist who visited the grave of Prithviraj.
As per the article, both the graves (one of Prithvi and the other of Md Ghori) lie besides each other and you need to catch hold of a rope, jump on Prthvi's grave (basically an insult)and then walk to Md Ghori's grave. The grave reads - "the infidel king of delhi".
This is ridiculous and I agree that the Indian Government should be doing something to give it the respect it needs. Don't we do that to the Taj (after all its a grave) or Humayoun's Tomb in Delhi!!!!!.
Moreover, Md Ghori defeated Prithvi by sheer deceit as he had no other option left after years of trying to capture Delhi and kill Prithvi. And more than ruling the country it was to satisfy his ego which he did by hook or by crook and left the cities of Delhi and Ajmer ruined in all sense. So I really do not see from which angle he could be respected and a king!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Prakashkabra (talk • contribs) 07:24, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Brother sorry to say but I think you didn't have any historical knowledge because Muhammad Ghori's grave is in Jhelum, Pakistan not in Afghanistan. This is just a mere part of rumors in India PawanDayma99 (talk) 05:03, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

It remains an epic because of the incredulous stories in it such as capture of ghori in the first battle and killing ghori in an archery competition while being blind. As a reference pritviraj died in 1192 (shortly after 2nd battle of tarain), whereas ghori died 1206. As a matter of fact he became king in 1202, after his brother died.
With reference to concern of other comment who states the charitable intention of Indian govt showering the humayun tomb with respect whereas pritviraj's grave not being shown the same respect, reasons are as below: Pritviraj is not the king of Afghanistan ever ( not even the king of India as a matter of fact he just ruled two cities). Humayan was emperor of India, hence revered by the Indian government. As a matter of fact humayan himself was attacked a number of times by the afghani warrior shershah suri. Therefore ure analogy I think is not based on secularism but on religion, the fact that since humayun being Muslim is being revered by Indians, therefore pritviraj should be revered by muslim country, that blows the whole argument of India being secular. Secondly toyour dismay i would like to you that the grave of ghori lies in Jhelum in Pakistan, 1000 miles away from pritviraj's grave ( further proving they both died in separate incidents), hence being difficult to get sch a long rope. Lastly If you wish to make a claim on state of his grave be improved, this is a general right and I agree thAt no human's grave be dissecrated. Hence this appeal should be made on basis of general humanity and not been made a religious affair. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.74.198.64 (talk) 18:03, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
Sources for Prithviraj Raso
[edit]If editors are going to attempt to add sources for Prithviraj Raso, I would suggest not using a Total War Center Forums thread[1] as a source. It appears to have been copy & pasted from Wikipedia. --Kansas Bear (talk) 18:26, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Gurjar King
[edit]https://www.livelaw.in/news-updates/akshay-kumar-film-prithviraj-rajput-gurjar-king-delhi-hc-200601
This case it was said that Prithviraj Raso depicts him as a Gurjar king. Why the WIkipedia article does not mention it? Venkat TL (talk) 11:52, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
