Singular or plural/

Hi Casliber, another fine article. Can we think about pronouns? The article uses "it" a lot as a prounoun for, (I presume), species. In many places, I think "they" would be better. I keep getting this stupid image in my head of this poor solitary bird making its lonely way around Australia. :-) GrahamColm^Talk 17:35, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Also, this sentence:

To denote the status of being paired or unpaired, the male experiences a bill darkening, which occurs within three weeks of being paired. is confusing. How about: When the male pairs his bill darkens, and this happens within three weeks. Graham. GrahamColm^Talk 19:34, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

OK, sentence is good and I inserted it. Good pickup. The 'singular vs plural debate is a bit of a headache which reminds me a bit of the passive tense one. At FAC, we've often completely singularised articles as per others' comments. I did leave many plurals while helping on ant as they were (a) communal and (b) the article was talking about the family rather than the species. So, to sum up, I am a bit unsure how to proceed here and am happy to see what others think and go with consensus. Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 21:52, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

It's funny. I wasn't going to work up any more fairy-wrens after the first four, but a couple of new users added alot of info to both this one and White-winged Fairy-wren.
