Fair use rationale for Image:JudgeCarterBookCover.jpg
[edit]Image:JudgeCarterBookCover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Bot-created subpage
[edit]A temporary subpage at User:Polbot/fjc/Robert Lee Carter was automatically created by a perl script, based on this article at the Biographical Directory of Federal Judges. The subpage should either be merged into this article, or moved and disambiguated. Polbot (talk) 17:18, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Career as a leading civil rights advocate
[edit]I have heard that he has had more honorary degrees than the one listed, possibly one from Yale? If anyone is familiar with this they may want to add it. 108.41.59.6 (talk) 01:23, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
papers
[edit]I came across this article this afternoon and added references and otherwise cleaned it up. However, I have limited time and did not read his biography cited. Also, while google says his papers are at the Library of Congress, the link produced an error. The LOC server might have been having problems, or the Library of Congress may have given them to the new Museum of African American History. I filled out a bug report and will post the link if I can.Jweaver28 (talk) 01:33, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
