This article seems to be a description of portions of the history of the Banda Islands from a British perspective. It seems like this information belongs in the more general article. 67.188.230.128 (talk) 03:07, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Admittedly it does have a British perspective. But given the pivotal nature of the island in history, and its one-time importance to Britain, that perspective is neither surprising nor one that we ought to dispense with. For that reason alone, this separate article for Run seems appropriate even though it remains incomplete.
If there are known significant details about the island that are both encyclopedic and not connected with that part of its history, they should be added.
Otherwise I feel that merging it with the general Banda Island article would be detracting, not adding to, Wikipedia, and we ought to be always focused on making it more comprehensive than it has been and is. 2602:306:2420:4EB9:A006:6401:3E92:DB7D (talk) 10:49, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Run is only one of the Banda Islands and there is no reason why it shouldn't have its own article.  Philg88 talk 11:41, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No for merging. I rather have someone with an expert in Run Island expanding this article specifically for Run Island.--Rochelimit (talk) 03:56, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Against merging. The importance of, specifically, Pulo Run in Anglo-Dutch (and, via Manhattan, American) history makes an entry essential. But by all means retitle this entry to 'Pulo Run' - the name it has in the 1662 Treaty of White hall, and limit it to the relatively brief 'contested' time up to the Treaty of Breda, 1667.Macquants (talk) 06:05, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Run (island) ?

[edit]

"Run (island)" doesn't sound right. The title of the article should be changed to Pulau Run, which is the name under which that island is referred to most of the time.--Lubiesque (talk) 13:53, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Currently?

[edit]

What about something about the island today. What is the population, what is the economy...? Kdammers (talk) 14:07, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
