Muztagh

[edit]

Is it correct to call the group Saltoro Muztagh? The Saltoros are found on the west side of the Siachen glacier while the Karakoram main ridge (aka Muztagh) goes from Baltoro to Siachen, Rimo and Saser Muztagh on the east side of the Siachen. ??? --Rupert Pupkin (talk) 11:44, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen "Saltoro Mountains" (Wala), "Saltoro Range" (Neate), and "Saltoro Muztagh" (various). Is the term "Muztagh" in the Karakoram specifically reserved for the "Greater Karakoram", i.e. the "main ridge" you describe? I haven't seen that clearly stated anywhere. Elsewhere, "Muztagh" is a pretty generic term. -- Spireguy (talk) 19:25, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
