Wikiproject Prisons

[edit]

If anyone's interested, I've proposed a new wikiproject for the creation and improvement of articles regarding specific prisons, internment camps, and detention centers here. --Cdogsimmons (talk) 02:34, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Which was apparently successful, and thus this article has been added to the project, per the above banner.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 07:06, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Location of the jail and A Man in Full

[edit]

The jail is indeed in Dublin, but (like the adjacent Federal Correctional Institution) it was formerly referred to as being in Pleasanton. This is because at the time the original jail (and the FCI) were built, Dublin was very small and did not even extend as far east as Camp Parks, and the nearest city (and the postal address used) was Pleasanton. Wolfe must have referred to somewhat older sources; the jail was considered to be "in Pleasanton" until the late 1980s or early 1990s.

With respect to some of the material I removed, please note that neither Pleasanton nor Livermore are "planned communities"; both are very old (by California standards) valley towns with a number of historic buildings. Dublin is newer, and lacks an old downtown, but is not truly a planned community like Columbia, Maryland or Celebration, Florida. --MCB (talk) 06:10, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Photo

[edit]

Good luck getting a photo, if you try to take a photo anywhere near the jail, you will likely get arrested or cited. perhaps someone can find a satellite image, or take one from a plane? please dont go there to take a photo, its built like a military compound, with clear lines of sight from all vantages looking out.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 02:46, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
