Notability
[edit]On April 1, 2018 Matsuoka became the new director of the RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) and now oversees both the K computer (#10 on the Top500 list right now) and the development of the "Post-K" project, which is planned to deliver a Petaflop Supercomputer by 2021/2022. The Post-K project has a budget of around a billion dollars. At least in my book this catapults him from a computer scientists who created a couple of video games in his youth to one of the most important persons in IT in Asia right now. 2A00:1398:4:0:A449:880E:D660:53E0 (talk) 14:37, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
