"He is one of only ten athletes to have won eight or more Olympic gold medals, the most successful male gymnast at the Olympics, and the best Japanese Olympian."

1) "Being one of the only ten athletes to have won eight or more Olympic gold medals" is quantifiable, ***BUT***

2) "the most successful male gymnast at the Olympics" is debatable. From what I know, I'd say he's certainly a top candidate to be considered to be the most successful, but that is a statement of opinion. The only other gymnast I can think of who could challenge him would be Nikolai Andrianov who has one fewer gold medal than Kato (Kato's 8 vs. Andrianov's 7) but 3 more than Kato overall (Andrianov's 15 vs. Kato's 12), so I'd say Andrianov can certainly challenge Kato in this respect, ***AND***

3) "best Japanese Olympian" is also a statement of opinion, but I don't know enough to debate that, although I could do a quick looking at the medal record, and based on that, it may be true, but I don't know. It's still a matter of opinion - however disputable.

That's all. Thank you.

Okay...I just did the research and that paragraph is better qualified and cross-referenced now. Thank you.
