Affiliates

[edit]

Just wondering what the reason is that the article doesn't list affiliates such as Delta Connection or KLM CityHopper? The Oneworld and Star Alliance pages list all of those alliance's affiliates such as American Eagle and United Express, for example. Is there a reason the SkyTeam article is the only one of the 3 major alliances to not do this? (VenFlyer98 (talk) 15:23, 10 March 2022 (UTC))[reply]

They are listed. In fact, there is a column to that specific purpose. But reliable sources supporting each entry are mandatory.--Jetstreamer Talk 20:30, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Contrary to what you said, affiliates such as Delta Connection and KLM CityHopper are not listed. As stated, the Star and Oneworld articles list the affiliates in the affiliate column, but the affiliate column here is nearly empty (aside from Shanghai Airlines). I understand needing sources of course, the difficult thing is unlike Star and Oneworld that have a page listing affiliates, SkyTeam doesn't have one. Regionals like Delta Connection are affiliates so they should be listed (again see pages for other alliances) there's just no sources, that's all. Understandable if they should stay off since there's no sources. VenFlyer98 (talk) 09:03, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that unsourced content exists in other articles is not an endorsement for introducing unsourced material here.--Jetstreamer Talk 14:24, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ITA Airways and its status with SkyTeam

[edit]

I did some research that Lufthansa has already bought 41% of ITA Airways in May 2023 and announced ITA Airways may leave SkyTeam and join Star Alliance, so the information should be added into the 2015-Stability page. Loveheart547 (talk) 02:52, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Do you have a source for the possible move to Star Alliance?RegentsPark (comment) 14:56, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added the statement with a source cited. Loveheart547 (talk) 21:43, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving this talk page

[edit]

As the talk page is getting quite long, I suggest that we Help:Archiving a talk page using User:Lowercase sigmabot III/Archive HowTo for this page. Fork99 (talk) 01:02, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Adding in hubs map

[edit]

Hey all, so I just added in the airport hub map, I'm afraid I'm not an expert at this but I tried my best (I based it off the pre-existing one for Star Alliance). Problem is a lot of the hubs, especially in PRC and USA, are rather close together, so it seems rather messy on a map. Note I also added in secondary hubs as well, but not focus cities. Anyway, I'm not sure if I've done anything wrong, but please say (and maybe correct as well) if I have done something irregular. Thanks all and all the best Essexman03 (talk) 13:04, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The hubs included in the map were all unsourced. The map was removed.--Jetstreamer Talk 21:20, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, the hubs might not have been sourced, but two things of note. First, as far as I am aware there is not a place to source in maps, only to give words, coordinates, direction of lettering and so on, not to source. Second, the list of said hubs come from the Wikipedia articles of the airlines themselves. You should find that the hubs of Delta all lie on the map, China Eastern on the map, Aeromexico, Garuda Indonesia and so on. I understand it might not have looked the most formal (my other map of Oneworld I was able to get the grasp of, even if I was unable to do a few extra things on there), but removing it entirely for a lack of sources which Wikipedia sources themselves (and also as far as I am aware one is unable to source on maps), it seems rather extreme if one doesn't mind me stating. I do hope you understand my lack of enthusiasm with this. Many thanks Essexman03 (talk) 22:29, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You cannot base your work on other Wikipedia articles. There was a sourced list of hubs in this very article that was removed per WP:NOTRAVEL. The map is the same list in other format.--Jetstreamer Talk 21:32, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Very well then, so is there a way you would suggest I would add in hubs so it would comply with the rules? A suggestion would be deeply welcome. Many thanks Essexman03 (talk) 23:27, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If properly sourced, the list of hubs should be included in the airline's infobox at each corresponding article.--Jetstreamer Talk 13:07, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
