Lead Section
[edit]I wish to add more elaborate definition of Social Media Measurement in the simple mellowing language in the the lead section of the page.[1] The introduction uses the terms like "active monitoring" which can be replaced by clear definition of what active monitoring conveys. The current paragraph talks about what Social Media measurement is used for but it doesn't talk about it's importance and how organizations benefit from it. Hello, I've compiled a list of 195 Social Media Measurement Tools and would like to see if it is acceptable to post it in this article. Q4sales (talk) 21:28, 22 June 2010 (UTC) TJ McCue, Q4Sales userid.

Hello, I think the sections "Technology used" and "Location based" could be rearranged into a new part.--Shivercao (talk) 18:07, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
The crawling sub-section in the data acquisition header seems to lack a definition. I would like to add a simple definition for this section from an article. [1] The crawling keyword in the Data Acquisition section is not linked to the proper wikipedia page. I would like to change it to Crawling. I wish to add a definition of network traffic analysis in the Network analysis sub-section.[2] I would like to rephrase the opening sentence of data acquisition section from "Acquiring data from social media is in demand of an exploring the user participation and population with the purpose of retrieving and collecting so many kinds of data(ex: comments, downloads etc.)[2]." to "Data Acquisition from a social media platform requires an investigation of the user population with the objective of gathering various types of data, for example, interaction between different users, uploaded and downloaded contents, rating, comments[2]. Lastly, I wish to correct some small grammatical errors in the whole article. Chinoyhardik (talk) 17:35, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

[edit]The list of companies in the See Also section is quite random. With 300+ companies as possible examples, a list will be hard to select or maintain. An alternative is to point to some of the competing industry lists being maintained outside of Wikipedia. I maintain one directory at Social Media Analysis (containing information about 310 companies at last check), which is why I'm not editing the article directly. Ken Burbary's wiki is another, frequently mentioned source. N Gilliatt (talk) 01:50, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
I wish to add relevant references to article to improve it’s reliability. For example, the definition for 'Social Media Management Software' has been quoted from the TechTarget website[1]. Similarly, some statements under the section 'Technology used' are retrieved from an IT social networking site[2].Prekshabehede (talk) 23:22, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
I introduce the data acquisition for social media measurement systematically referring to this paper "Data Acquisition in Social Networks: Issues and Proposals"[3] as a template for further incorporation with "Technologies used" and "Location-based" section because the existing description of tech are less-organized for example the "Location-based" section could be a supplement for Technology section.
Moreover, I would like to add a section "For Government" paralleled to "For brand" in terms of the existing item only covered the commercial marketing aspect social media monitoring, however the social media monitoring also is a good approach for government management. For example the tax agency of Netherland applied this technique to obtain the relevant sentiments within target groups[4]Shivercao (talk) 21:50, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
