We need to be careful

[edit]
Resolved

@CaroleHenson: and @Another Believer: We need to be cautious about lumping two statues, even when by the same sculptor, into the same article. For example both Daniel Chester French and Augustus Saint-Gaudens have at least two Abraham Lincoln statues and each of them has its own article. Perhaps we should break this up? I support separating content. What would these two articles be called (in other words, how should they be disambiguated)? ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:28, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at these bait more I think that they are the same statue, just one in bronze and the other in marble. The stone one look different because they have a tree stump or something behind him to support the weight of the stone above, a very common devise, but everything else seems to be the same. I'm going to work at this a bit more, but I'm now thinking one article is the way to go. Carptrash (talk) 23:50, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Found it. They are (more or less) the same statue. I then propose that the name be changed to Samuel Adams (Whitney). I'll write something with a good reference in the article shortly. but first, it's tea time. Carptrash (talk) 23:57, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. I will request a page move. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:36, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Samuel Adams (Whitney)Statue of Samuel Adams – This is the recommended style for public statues at MOS:ART/TITLE. No disambiguation is needed as there are no other statues of Samuel Adams with articles (per WP:D2D). Ham II (talk) 09:19, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
