COI
[edit]Steve Green writes Steve Green (journalist) using the account Ghostwords (talk · contribs). There seems to be a liberal use ofprimary sources in this article, but limited use of third-party sources. Wikipedia is not for people to write their own legacies, limited though they be. 88.104.47.150 (talk) 20:27, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't create this entry, but soon as I discovered it, I took pains to correct and update it. If you feel that is inappropriate, I'm sorry. Ghostwords (talk) 04:43, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed, the whole page reads like a fluff piece created and mostly edited by the subject matter themselves as a means of self promotion. NossB (talk) 00:40, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, for somebody with an obvious COI, Green has been fairly cautious here, in accordance with "Do not write about these things unless you are certain that a neutral editor would agree that your edits are in the best interest of Wikipedia". He is notable within his own community, and the sources offered are often such sound ones as Ansible and Locus. (Full disclosure: I "know" Green, although we've never met [that I recall] in meatspace.) --Orange Mike | Talk 17:45, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- This was the first Wiki page that I ever created and my apologies for any "errors" in the original text. GeorgeLloyd (talk) 18:06, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- No problems. After all, you didn't create the COI, I did. Ghostwords (talk) 19:11, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- I see you've also had problems over your entry on Lilian Edwards. I'd certainly say she was notable enough to avoid deletion. Ghostwords (talk) 19:17, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
