The article for this game is amazing in its crappiness

[edit]
- I've fixed some of the basic grammar errors and spelling mistakes, but is there anyone out there who knows a bit more about the game than I do that would be able to do a complete rewrite?
The article recently went through a split; there used to be only one article for the entire SoR series, before bits and pieces were dispersed to the far corners of the Wiki. So yes, a rewrite is in need. Nifboy 20:03, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arcade version

[edit]

I deleted the entry speculating that there was an original arcade version (based on KLOV's page.) Reason being that the KLOV page is actually referring to the Mega-Tech/Mega-Play version.

Street of Rage Bosses

[edit]

Thanks to Jigsaw at BomberGames forum we now have the official names and ethnicity for the Streets of Rage 1 bosses, coming from the Japanese instructrions booklet. I believe this is why it's important to list the "Blaze" clones by their original names and noting their Sega of America names. Major thanks goes to Jigsaw.

Boxart on this page?

[edit]

Where is the boxart on this page from? I'm not familiar with it.... The S 04:00, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the normal boxart used on the UK PAL version, not sure what it looked like on US or Japanese versions but as far as I can tell it looks more or less like the one I have stashed away in my bedroom somewhere. It also says Mega Drive on the boxart and in US wasn't it called the Sega Genesis so its probably the UK version or from a country that also used the Mega Drive name. Game Credits

[edit]

There is a credit in the game, Game Designed by There is "No" accounting for tastes. What do this mean?

Music

[edit]

This sounds like Streets of Rage 1:

Inner City - Pennies From Heaven

And this:

Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)

Personal Opinion

[edit]

"(despite the fact that a Streets of Rage sequel would pretty much sell itself)"

^ I removed the above claim from the "Legacy" section of the article. I'm as big a fan of SoR as the next guy, but said claim is still an individual's personal opinion and does not belong in the article. Spartan198 (talk) 05:11, 10 February 2009 (UTC) Sparta198[reply]

Needs more references.

[edit]

In particular, the one talking about a proposed Streets of Rage 3D to be developed by Core, only to be scrapped and converted into Fighting Force. A quick Google Search revealed no legitimate proof of this, and the whole idea is patently absurd and should never have been placed on the page without a credible reference. I'm urging someone to either provide a credible reference that proves this information as being factually correct, or I will take it upon myself to remove said blurb at some point in the future. GameGear Stages

[edit]

The Game Gear version had 5 stages. The order of stages for the GameGear version went: City Street, Unfinished Bridge, Aboard Ship, The Factory and finally Syndicate Headquarters. The Inner City, the Beachfront and the Freight Elevator stages from the Genesis and the Master System versions were missing from the Game Gear version. I know because I played the Game Gear version and the Genesis versions of Streets of Rage 1. 5.69.99.18 (talk) 18:53, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Chicken?

[edit]

The article says one of the two items that restores health is chicken. Yes, the sentence is cited to two websites. But according to the game’s instruction manual, the item is not chicken but roast beef. Red White Blue and Yellow (talk) 17:43, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
