Remove copy-edit

[edit]

This original article was my mistake and it could violent Wikipedia rules of copy edit and copyright, so I have revised it. You don't have to revert anything. Laska666 (talk) 21:57, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Then why not improve this article, the title "Vietnamese civil war" is not something I have ever seen used as the title of this war before, I have seen it described as a civil war but not the civil war (where it would be the war's main name), so why the odd naming convention? --Donald Trung (talk) 22:00, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The title "Vietnamese civil war" makes readers feel easier than to digest, may be? Laska666 (talk) 22:03, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Laska666, I understand that you're saying the original versions of the article were copied or closely paraphrased from certain sources? If that is the case, the most prudent action would probably be to ask for redaction of the offending revisions by placing the {{Copyvio-revdel}} template on the page. Whether the Tây Sơn–Nguyễn war / civil war should be a separate article is a different matter that can be discussed separately. --Paul_012 (talk) 08:02, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Changes 8-Aug 2024

[edit]

This page takes the background very far back to the 16th century, and several sections should also belong to background (anything before the actual war, ie 1771). In fact, there are 2 backgrounds (I renamed the second one). I amended the first few section levels to show which are the actual 'Backgrounds' and which show the actual event, ie the war.

Also I merged the overview to lead since its essentially the same thing. The rest of the 'Overview' is more of a specialist's commentary of the war and its wider impacts, so it can be placed into 'Legacy' as its a legacy of the war. Btw did some grammatical edits, and separated some very large paragraphs for easier read. Removed unrelated image showing a mid-19th century conflict. Move images to related texts and avoid sandwich issues. Danial Bass (talk) 11:36, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
