Trivia[edit]

Can i add to the trivia section that: The cover shows a morph that not only doesn't occur in the book but also COULDN'T occur because in this book Tobias's 'normal' form is a hawk, so he can't morph FROM human INTO hawk (not to mention that he actually can'tmorph at all at this point in the series). or something along those lines--JG ROX58.173.10.160 03:40, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Back cover[edit]

Please do not re-insert extensive quotations from the back cover of the book. These are not licensable under the GFDL, nor defensible under "Fair Use" because of their size. Fair use rationale for Image:The Encounter Illustration.jpg[edit]

Image:The Encounter Illustration.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Marco's bird morph[edit]

The article says that Marco's bird morph used in the book is an osprey, but (on page 149) it says "Marco and Rachel had both previously morphed bald eagles," then talks about Marco in bird morph with a "proud white head." This should be changed in the article, but should it also be mentioned as a mistake? 206.163.233.120 (talk) 07:57, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rather than change it, this should be listed as a mistake. Marco does not have a bald eagle morph. Ensign beedrill (talk) 02:34, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not an expert on birds, but I do know that Marco's morph is that of a red-tailed-hawk Trajanson (talk) 23:56, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notable Quote[edit]

This book is the origin of the popular meme “Okay, not funny ha-ha. More like funny weird”

Marco says “Okay, not funny ha-ha. More like funny weird” to Cassie. He is referring to the way they morphed into dolphins the day before and how Marco was almost eaten by a shark.

Buying a digital copy of the book and searching by text would confirm this. The book was published in August 1996.
