This article and MOS:VG[edit]

I have reviewed MOS:VG and believe it would be encyclopedic to create this article. I have specifically tried to rewrite the article from an outsider perspective and I think that the current sourcing is as good as the articles dedicated to other minor Mario characters, like Koopa Troopa. The new sourcing I brought up while restoring this page are dedicated to him and most contain "Thwomp" in their title. This article has more SIGCOV than Boo (character), ~~which seems to have survived deletion~~. Regardless, I believe there still exists plenty of interview content from which extra information on this character can be obtained, especially with Miyamoto and other game creators. 128.6.36.187 (talk) 01:11, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The onus is on you to demonstrate that sourcing exists - see WP:BURDEN - rather than just claiming it does. The sources currently in the article do very little to demonstrate that Thwomp is notable. If you look at the Koopa article or even the Boo article you cited, there needs to be at minimum a reception section discussing Thwomp's impact on pop culture, the popularity of the character, and ideally critical analysis of the character - basically demonstrating the character's notability in the 'real world'. (I also am not sure whether The Gamer, Nintendo Soup, and HITC are WP:VG/RS.) Interviewes with Miyamoto etc are WP:PRIMARY - they can be used to help discuss the origins of the character but don't in and of themselves contribute to notability.
