- ALT0a ... that Detroit Lions' tackle Tony Furst saw combat action in the Guadalcanal campaign, underwent surgery in New Zealand, and returned to play two games for the Lions in 1944?
- This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline and either could be used, but I added ALT0a because I thought the reference to veins unexciting when it is apparent from the newspaper clip that he had a serious condition. The article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:01, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth: I get your point about the vein surgery. I concur that either alt 1 or alt0a is preferable. Cbl62 (talk) 14:21, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you. I have struck ALT0. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 17:17, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
