Title
[edit]There has been some discussion about the title of the series and therefore this article. CNBC calls it 'Top of the Morning' [1] while star and EP Reese Witherspoon has called it 'The Morning Show' on her Instagram [2] Can we reach consensus on the title?
- Went ahead and was WP:BEBOLD and reverted the title. Multiple sources, including Witherspoon herself as you pointed out above, have referred to the series as The Morning Show. While it has yet to be confirmed by Apple, it seems pretty clear that this is at least the show's working title. The only source to call the series Top of the Morning was CNBC in that one article and no other source seemed to follow their lead. It may very well be that they called the show that because that is simply the title of the book the show is based on. Hopefully we'll get an official title soon. – BoogerD (talk) 17:03, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

The Morning Show (American TV series) → The Morning Show (TV series) – The Morning Show on Apple TV+ is the only episodic series with this title, so I don’t think the additional country disambiguation is necessary. Other shows with this name are actual morning programs (not series) that fall under WP:NCTV#Non-series television, or already have their own disambiguations added. Limmidy (talk) 10:35, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nom. The hatnote to disambiguation page, which is currently present anyway, should suffice if reader needs clarification. Only episodic TV series. -- Wikipedical (talk) 19:53, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
- Currently, there is no hatnote to the disambiguation page at the article, but I think adding one would be a very good idea. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 20:35, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
- Note: Actually, taking a look at The Morning Show disambiguation page, this is a bigger mess that needs a bigger solution. For example, The Morning Show (TV program) needs to be moved to The Morning Show (2007 TV program). And, arguably, because there are so many articles already disambiguated with "TV program", leaving just this one at "TV series" is potentially ambiguous, so I'm going to oppose this proposal. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 20:39, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
- @IJBall: I think something that might work is to move The Morning Show (TV program) to The Morning Show (Australian TV program) since it currently airs only in Australia. Every other program with this title already has its own country disambiguated. However, the Apple series is available worldwide so I do believe it should have a more general disambiguation and a hatnote added. Limmidy (talk) 23:32, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- You can't – The Morning Show (1992 TV program) also exists and is also Australian – even though it's a redirect, it still counts. The two Australian versions need to be disambiguated "by year"; the others can/should all be disambiguated "by country" (as per WP:NCTV). --IJBall (contribs • talk)
- This makes sense. Thanks for clearing this up! Limmidy (talk) 23:44, 4 November 2019 (UTC)

- No - you're not seriously suggesting we have a The Morning Show (TV program) and a The Morning Show (TV show) disambiguated merely by the ENGVAR of the broadcast? IJBall above is... on the ball (sorry). CapnZapp (talk) 10:07, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- It'd be at The Morning Show (TV series) not at The Morning Show (TV show), but your point is exactly the same, yeah. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 14:00, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. Programme, series, as long as they're shown in ongoing installments they're all the same thing. No need to confuse matters. That doesn't help users. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:19, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose I've only just looked at this before checking this discussion and have to agree with what IJBall has said, as well as CapnZapp and Necrothesp. --AussieLegend (✉) 15:02, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose per above. And yes, as IJBall suggests, some of the disambiguations for other shows are out of date.— TAnthonyTalk 21:47, 4 November 2019 (UTC)

- Oppose but rename The Morning Show (U.S. TV series). "American" is inaccurate and too long. —МандичкаYO 😜 14:00, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
- See WP:NCTVUS. We use "American", not "U.S.". This was decided at an RfC. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:52, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
- Question: Do you mean this one, Necrothesp? CapnZapp (talk) 11:09, 8 November 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, as now linked from WP:NCTVUS. -- Necrothesp (talk) 08:50, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

Additions for "Awards and Nominations"
[edit]The Morning Show has outstanding award nominations that are not listed for at least two awards shows coming in 2022:
(1) Writer's Guild of America Awards 2022 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/74th_Writers_Guild_of_America_Awards - two nominations, one for Drama and one for Episodic Drama
(2) Screen Actors Guild Awards 2022 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/28th_Screen_Actors_Guild_Awards - four nominations, one for ensemble, two for drama actress, one for drama actor
These should be added to the chart of awards & nominatioons — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.108.104.59 (talk) 19:08, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
Seriously, how do we add these? Now there is a nomination from the Producer's Guild of America - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/33rd_Producers_Guild_of_America_Awards — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.108.104.59 (talk) 15:17, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
