The translation of Volksgerichtshof is "People's Court". So, why does this article add "(first senate)"? Is this a mistranslation? Or does it denote something true and particular about the Volksgerichtshof? I would like to change "(first senate)" to "(People's Court)" but am concerned that something would be lost. Thoughts? IIUC the Volkgerichtshof was organized into several "senates" or chambers, with the first senate led by Freisler, so the mention is there to make the statement more precise. (But I'm no expert, just a German guy.) --Syzygy (talk) 14:49, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As the person who has added the phrase – the explanation by Syzygy is entirely correct, as one could verify via the linked judgement which, unfortunately, is only available in German and via the paywalled database (though accessible via Wikilibrary). It is thus right to wikilink the People's Court (but not the senate). I had done the wikilinking earlier, but was reverted without further explanation. I would love to see an IPA pronunciation guide added for her name, I don't speak German so I'm not sure how it would be pronounced. KatelinHS (talk) 14:43, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
