[edit]I lived in Tokyo for 8 years and never heard of the "landmark" HRC branch in Ueno Station. I can virtually guarantee that you could ask 1000 random Tokyoites and they wouldn't know either (unlike true landmark meeting places like Hachikō and the Mitsukoshi lion). I believe it's wrong to include information like this which derives primarily from a tiny minority foreign community perspective. But I have a policy not to revert the same thing twice.... just wanted to have my say. Djiann (talk) 15:30, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Its a meeting point within the station. i.e. a landmark within the station (or nearby) where which is clear an unambiguous particularly to a foreign visitor (Was discussed on Yahoo groups "Jtrains" starting 11 Nov 2006). I think it deserves a mention as the English edition is intended for mainly people outside Japan to read. Perhaps also worth mentioning that I was approached by someone looking for it (at the Park gate) and the guy (foreigner) was incredulous that I didn't know. From any other gate at Ueno it would be easy to find. The section on the station building also needs expanding as stations are increasingly not just a place to catch trains but to spend time (and money) in the shopping arcades. - But, by using the rationale that foreign visitors are going to be looking for it, aren't we crossing the WP:NOT#TRAVEL line, especially if it is not otherwise encyclopedic? On that side of Ueno Station, you're likely to be told to meet by 翼の像 anyway. Neier (talk) 23:42, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
