Vasileios Kavvadas → Vassilis Kavvadas – Vassilis is the official correct Latin alphabet transliteration of his name from the Greek alphabet. His Greek name is in the Greek alphabet Βασίλης Καββαδάς - which transliterates into the Latin alphabet as Vasilis Kavvadas. The first Greek s in Vassilis is a double s, which then adds a second s for the name transliteration officially into Vassilis Kavvadas. Vasileios is the "romanized" version of Vassilis. So both Vasilis Kavvadas, using one s instead of the double s, with the direct letter by letter Greek alphabet to Latin alphabet conversion, and Vasileios Kavvadas are correct and proper alternate names and redirects. But the official article page name should be Vassilis Kavvadas. FIBA officially has it that way also, [1], as do NBA related media sites like nbadraft.net [2] and draftexpress.com [3] - FIBA take the direct full form transliteration from passports. Here is his Facebook page [4]
