Lead too short
[edit]I see this article is nominated for GA. It will probably need to have its lead extended to summarize the article's contents, in particular of the painting's cultural significance, to get there. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:32, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- It's short, but I am not aware of any sources that deal with this subject that I have not covered :( --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:35, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- Not asking for sources, but a longer lead that summarizes what the whole of the rest of the article says, specially as stated the cultural significance section of the existing article. Sorry it wasn't clear the first time! Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:48, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Chiswick Chap: Ah, that's totally reasonable. Let me know if the lead is better now. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:44, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- That's already an improvement. Maybe a little more? Good luck with the review. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:51, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

This article appears neutral, stable, well-written (I have copyedited), and the image is appropriately licenced. Though not an issue at GA, it should ideally specify ownership / location of the painting between when it was displayed in the 1870s, and its current location in the National Museum. I am assuming good faith that there is no other contemporary art criticism of this work? hamiltonstone (talk) 13:21, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- None online. I am pretty sure there are some Polish ones, but they would require a trip to the library in Poland, something I can rarely do those days. As for ILL, since the contents are mostly not even searchable on Google Books, I am not even sure which books / articles to order... --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:56, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
