Another English-language source[edit]

is this 1977 article by Hightower, which provides a couple of details on his later years not mentioned in Zhou's thesis. Notably it contradicts the currently cited source in suggesting he never really retired. (The Nanking where he died is not today's Nanjing but rather Shangqiu, the Song dynasty's southern capital.) Footnote 1 also cites earlier research "establishing" Zhou Bangyan's birth and death years. Cobblet (talk) 23:57, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
