editprotected As part of the total revamp of the old Abuse Report system we have moved and renamed the project to Wikipedia:Abuse response. As part of the last stage of the rename the main page was recently moved. While there is a redirect from the old Wikipedia:Abuse report main page we are trying to change all the links we can. Since this high visibility template links to the abuse response system we were wondering if you could make the following change:

Replace: report network abuse

With: report network abuse

If for some reason you are hesitant to do this edit please feel free to contact me or any of the other contacts listed on Wikipedia:Abuse response. Jamesofur (talk) 07:59, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Syntax (English) correction

[edit]

editprotected The disclaimer reads "Public terminals may have set expiry times (usually in 30-minute or 60-minute intervals), so if blocking the IP please bear this in mind." However, "so if blocking the IP please..." makes no sense, grammatically speaking. In addition, "...30-minute or 60-minute intervals)" can do without saying 'minute' twice, and use the end hyphen on 30- and just let 60- take the 'minute'. It should instead read, "...expiry times (usually in 30- or 60-minute intervals). When blocking this IP address, please take this into consideration." —Mr. E. Usage doc

[edit]

Is this the appropriate banner template for the talkpages of IP editors on dial-up? Such IP numbers, like mobileIP and dynamicIP change very frequently: there is rarely a point in leaving messages more than a few hours after the IP's last contrib except to record that there was a response to an edit, and such would usually be better placed elsewhere, as in article talkspace. Ranges?

[edit]

Hi all, any advice on what to do with public IP ranges? Is there a way to get this template on every talk page in the range? For example, 64.134.0.0/16 is (according to WHOIS) "AT&T Wi-Fi Services customer NAT pool", I'd think we would want this template on every IP in the range. Vectro (talk) 13:15, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The only thing I can think of would be to have a bot do it, but that's an excellent point. PCHS-NJROTC (Messages) 23:52, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Many of the shared templates have been updated to make the friendlier, and below at the sandbox is what I propose we do with this one. PCHS-NJROTC (Messages) 00:02, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove the following:

In response to vandalism from this IP address, abuse reports may be sent to its network administrator for investigation; network administrators may be able to disable access to the network by offenders.

I think that should be left, but just unlinked. Jackmcbarn (talk) 02:17, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please change

Create an account!

to

Create an account!

to avoid a misleading link. The text "Create an account" should lead to the page for creating an account.
