In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the twig blight is a type of fictional monster.

Publication history

Dungeons & Dragons 3rd edition (2000–2002)

The twig blight first appeared in third edition in the adventure The Sunless Citadel (2000).[1] The twig blight appears in the third edition Monster Manual II (2002).[2]

Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition (2014–)

Twig blights appear in the adventure Lost Mine of Phandelver, included in the 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set (2014). They reappear in the Sunless Citadel, as part of Tales from the Yawning Portal, as well as the 5th edition Monster Manual alongside the needle blight and the vine blight, the only blight capable of speech.[3] The Tree Blight appears in Curse of Strahd.

Description

A twig blight is a small, evil plant creature that looks like a woody shrub when rooted in soil. A twig blight has a thirst for blood, and when it moves about its leafless branches interlock to create a humanoid shape. A twig blight attacks with its claws that deliver a strength-draining poison.
