Cricket Fantasy League is a game in which 8 participants assemble an imaginary team of real life of Cricketer's and score points based on those players actual statistical performance on the field of play. We bid the players, we buy them for our team, we score points according to the real world player statistics, at the end of the tournament whoever top's the table are called as winner. Basically we have many leagues like CFL Cricket world cup, the newly formed CFL IPL T20 and many more to come in the future. CFL cricket world cup was won by the team Black FireBirds owned by Sunil S.J.

We have 8 teams at present, each team is ran by every individuals, before I introduce all the 8 teams I would like to give credit to a person who is the founder of Cricket Fantasy League Jithendra B.K.

Rules and regulation

Bidding rules for the franchises

  • Every CFL Franchise has to bid 16 players from 8 teams.
  • Each CFL Franchise has to take 10 Indian & 6 Overseas Players out of your 16.
  • Each CFL Franchise will get in total of $400m to bid the players and it will be divided into 3 categories, for 3 Star players franchises will get the share of $240m, 2 Star players franchises will get the share of $125m, & for 1 Star players franchises will get the share of $35m will be provided.
  • Following will show how the franchises are allowed to bid player's in different categories, where we call that as 3 star, 2 star and 1 star player categories according to their playing abilities.
  • Categories:

          a. 3 Star players: 5 Indian & 3 Overseas Players ($240m)
          b. 2 Star players: 3 Indian & 2 Overseas Players ($125m)
          c. 1 Star players: 2 Indian & 1 Overseas Player. ($35m)

  • Compulsory each CFL Franchise have to bid 1 Wicket Keeper, 5 Bowlers for their 16 member squad, compulsory have to choose 3 Bowler's and a wicket-keeper in their best 11 squad.

Playing 11:

  • Each CFL Franchise has to announce their best 11 squad before the match starts from Wednesday 8th April 2015, in that best 11 squad franchises should compulsorily mention 1 wicket-keeper and 3 bowlers, only 4 overseas players are allowed in that best 11 squad.
  • In that best 11 Squad, franchises are allowed to choose 2 Star Players.

Changes in the best 11 squad during the league stages:

  • Every week CFL will get the franchises an opportunity to change two player from your 16 member squad in your best 11, one is from the Indian and other from the overseas and it also allows the franchises to change one star player from your best 11 squad every week.
  • Franchises should announce the changes before the commencement of the every week's Wednesday’s game or else consideration will not be approved after the game starts and franchises squad will remains same as previous.

Changes in the best 11 squad during the playoffs and Grand Final:

  • During the Playoffs the rule changes, there is no restriction for changes. Every franchises are allowed to announce their best 11 from their 16 member squad, you can select 2 star players until the Grand Final and don't forget to do the changes before the playoff starts.
  • And during the Grand Final(FINAL) rule changes, franchises are allowed to choose your best 11 squad along with the 2 star players.

Replacement & Injuries Issue:

  • If any of CFL franchise player went on International Duties or out of injuries from the IPL, are allowed to replace the players immediately who were not in the auction.
  • If any of CFL franchise player is injured and out for a week, you can replace him from your 16 member squad or else you can replace any player who were not in the auction, but condition applied.

          a. Condition: Franchises cannot replace him back when he is back from his injury and he will remain as a free agent, If in case other franchises are in problems of injuries they are allowed to take him in their squad.

Points scoring

  • Points are then gained or deducted depending on players performances. Points are awarded in three different ways by Batting, Bowling and Fielding.
  • star player* will be awarded the points with the double.

Winners and awards

  • After the statistical point's calculation of all the franchises, whoever top's the table are considered to be the winners of the CFL IPL T20, in case when there is a tie in the top of the table between the top two franchises, whoever scores more in the Grand Final among them are are to be considered as winners of CFL.

Awards for the franchises:

  • Award for no 1. Gold medal is the highest honour in CFL
  • Award for no 2. Silver medal
  • Award for no 3. Bronze medal
  • Bottom of the table are awarded the Wooden spoon which is the least honour in CFL.

Xtreme Blasters won the maiden IPL fantasy championship, won the first Gold Medal, mean while La Vie VenDetta won the Silver Medal and Giant Cricketers won the Bronze, and the Table spoon goes to Thor Lighting.
