Accelerator

Accelerator (一方通行, Akuserarēta) is the most powerful Level 5 esper in Academy City with an eponymous ability that allows him to control any vector he touches, ranking him at the top of the seven Level 5s in the city. Since his natural ability blocks all ultraviolet radiation, he has an appearance of white hair. Accelerator's real name is unknown, though he recalls his surname is composed of two kanji characters and his given name consists of three kanji characters.

Accelerator becomes part of the Level 6 Shift Project, which attempts to evolve him into the first Level 6 esper by killing 20,000 clones of Mikoto Misaka. Following the project's cancellation, he meets Last Order and becomes her guardian. Accelerator is diagnosed with aphasia from his injury following his rescue of Last Order from Ao Amai, resulting in him using a calculation assistance device (in a form of a choker-style electrode) connected to the Misaka Network to compensate for his motor and verbal skills as well as for the calculation that is required for his esper ability. He later joins the city's dark side organization GROUP until its dissolution after World War III.

Accelerator is introduced to the magic side by Leivinia Birdway and is teamed up along with Toma Kamijo and Shiage Hamazura on his mission under Birdway in Hawaii. He joins Kamijo and Hamazura again in the United Kingdom on a mission to deal with Coronzon. Accelerator becomes the new Board Chairman of Academy City following the apparent death of Aleister Crowley. To begin reforms in the city, he launches Operation Handcuffs to eliminate the city's dark side. As part of the operation, Accelerator submits himself for trial due to his involvement with the murder of Misaka's clones and other crimes. He is later found guilty of 36,025 charges and is sentenced to 12,000 years of imprisonment, becoming Prisoner #1890.

Acid

Acid (アシッド, Ashiddo) is an unnamed member of the secret society Blue Blood along with her twin sister Counselor and a Level 4 esper with an ability to control oxygen.

Agata

Agata (アガター, Agatā) is a Roman Catholic battle nun belonging to the Agnese Forces. As part of the punishment by the Roman Catholic Church, she is placed under Bishop Biagio Busoni and helms the 47th ice ship of the Queen's Fleet. After Busoni's defeat, Agata rejoins Agnese Sanctis and becomes part of the Anglican Church's Necessarius. During the invasion of Crowley's Hazards in London, Agata is stationed in Strait of Dover. She is later saved by Shiage Hamazura and Rikō Takitsubo after the strait's defensive line was breached.

Etsu Aihana

Etsu Aihana (藍花 悦, Aihana Etsu) is the mysterious Academy City's sixth most powerful Level 5 esper. Aihana's ability allows an individual to receive power from the name and make it their "ideal self". When Academy City orders the seven Level 5 espers to kill Othinus and Toma Kamijo, Aihana only toys with his phone that has the order. On Christmas Day, Aihana visits a wounded Kamijo in a hospital to offer assistance in defeating Anna Sprengel.

Aileen

Aileen (愛燐, Airīn) is a member of the Kamisato Faction who is obsessed with "modern" weapons.

Aiwass

Aiwass (エイワス, Eiwasu) is a mysterious being from the Aeon of Horus summoned by Aleister Crowley, based on the entity's voice of the same name. It is associated with the mysterious codename DRAGON. He manifests in front of Accelerator when GROUP is investigating the codename and offers him advice on how to save Last Order after defeating him. During World War III, Aiwass instructs Hyōka Kazakiri to restrain the archangel Gabriel. Aiwass manifests again to fight Toma Kamijo when he infiltrated the Windowless Building and later fights Coronzon while the building is launched into space. Aiwass is also responsible for releasing Aleister's daughter Lilith back into the world before confronting Coronzon. On its next manifestation, Aiwass helps Anna Sprengel in returning her original body and sides with her on her plans.

Mio Aizono

Mio Aizono (相園 美央, Aizono Mio), also known by her nickname Kakiko Shinigami (死神 力キコ, Shinigami Kakiko) and her fake identity Chiyo Atatsu (逢辰 千余, Atatsu Chiyo), is a student at Nagatenjōki Academy and a Level 4 esper with an ability called "Military Oil" (油性兵装, Miritarī Oiru), which allows her to manipulate oil into various weapons. Aizono is a test subject of White Alligator, a project designed to make an esper move past the set limits of Academy City's Parameter List. The character is the main antagonist of the 2011 PlayStation Portable game A Certain Scientific Railgun.

Akazame

Akazame (赤鮫) is a teacher at Tokiwadai Middle School who is saved by Mikoto Misaka from an impending execution agitated by Empress Resanerié Sadis Dialine of the Dialine Empire.

Akemi

Akemi (アケミ) is a student at Sakugawa Middle School who becomes a user of Level Upper to gain an ability due to being a Level 0 esper, resulting in her displaying an ability similar to telekenesis.

Mie Akikawa

Mie Akikawa (秋川未絵, Akikawa Mie) is a middle school student at an unnamed middle-high school in Academy City's District 7. During the High Priest's rampage in the city, she is tasked to deliver the liquid diamond worked on by her parents, leading to a chase away from thieves taking advantage of the chaos to steal the diamond. Akikawa is briefly saved by Toma Kamijo from pursuers who have managed to take the diamond, giving her a chance to retake it and finally reach her mother's company. Akikawa reunites with Kamijo when he and his schoolmates temporarily moved to her school's campus due to the destruction of his school from the rampage. She later becomes active in leading her school during the heat wave in the city.

Alfar

Alfar (アルファル, Arufaru) is a magical life form created by Slappar in a laboratory flask in Brick Wharf located in northern Scotland, based on the Norse mythological elves. She possesses the ability to force living things around her to be mutated unnaturally. Following the mutation of the pet cat Bailey, Alfar decides to occupy the facility to prevent other living beings from making contact with her. Later, Alfar is rescued by Kaori Kanzaki, and as she is being transported to a Necessarius facility in the Lake District, she is given a spiritual item to temporarily seal her ability.

Enirya G. Algonskaya

Enirya G. Algonskaya (エニーリャ=G=アルゴヌスカヤ, Enirya G. Arugonusukaya) is a former police inspector turned security guard of the shopping mall that Mikoto Misaka has visited in Russia for her ability demonstration.

Saeka Amahebi

Saeka Amahebi (甘蛇 冴華, Amahebi Saeka) is a gyaru student in Academy City and an esper with an ability called "Scorpion Tail" (死毒生産, Sukōpion Teiru), which allows her to reproduce the effects of known and unknown poisons through deadly images into her blood. Amahebi is also the creator of the software that allows changes of espers' abilities called ExitApp. She later meets Kazari Uiharu and cooperates with her in stopping the use of the software to avoid further suicide-related events connected to it.

Ao Amai

Ao Amai (天井 亜雄, Amai Ao) is an Academy City researcher for the Radio Noise Project, where he specializes in creating personality data with self-learning capabilities, and later becomes involved in the Level 6 Shift Project. He later associates himself with an outside organization called Science Association to sell the city's classified information as a means of repaying his large debts caused by the shutdown of the Level 6 Shift Project he heavily invested in. Amai is responsible for the virus installed in Last Order and the gunshot-induced brain damage suffered by Accelerator. Amai is later killed by Kikyō Yoshikawa.

Ayane Amano

Ayane Amano (天乃 綾音, Amano Ayane) is a student at Tokiwadai Middle School belonging to the clique led by Reiri Hasekura and a Level 4 esper with an ability called "Air Pressure" (気圧操作, Eapuresshā), which allows her to walk on vertical surfaces and cut with vacuum waves.

Kaguya Amano

Kaguya Amano (天埜 郭夜, Amano Kaguya) is a student aboard the Academy City's satellite Hikoboshi II who serves as an advisor to the member of the city's Board of Directors that specializes in aerospace industry. During the manhunt of Toma Kamijo and Othinus, Amano is tasked to deploy Accelerator from the satellite towards Denmark.

Amime

Amime (網目) is a student at Habatobi High School and an esper with an ability that can manipulate frictional coefficients. During the Daihasei Festival in Academy City, Amime is partnered with Todoroki to represent their school in the three-legged race.

Flack Anchors

Flack Anchors (フラック=アンカース, Furakku Ankāsu) is a mysterious magician belonging to the British cabal Dusk Waiting to Awaken. Anchors wields a spiritual item modeled after a large hunting rifle with a wooden stock as his weapon, which triggers by chanting the words "Explosive augmentation, 75cc" first.

Andō

Andō (安堂) is a student at Tokiwadai Middle School who is the daughter of the president of a frozen food company. During the heat wave in Academy City, Andō hears a rumor going around the school about gaining the right to establish their very own clique by touching a certain gentleman (Toma Kamijo) and how Mikoto Misaka and Misaki Shokuhō are working hard to accomplish that. She feels determined to do the same for the sake of her future in the company.

Angelene

Angelene (アンジェレネ, Anjerene) is a Roman Catholic battle nun-in-training belonging to the Agnese Forces. Her magic ability is aided by four bags of coins hanging around her waist, referencing Matthew the Apostle's position as a tax collector, which transforms into four elements and can be launched as projectiles. Originally from France, Angelene moves to Milan, Italy with her parents, but she is later abandoned by them until the Roman Catholic Church takes her in.

Alice Anotherbible

Alice Anotherbible (アリス=アナザーバイブル, Arisu Anazābaiburu) is a transcendent belonging to the secret magic cabal Bridge Builders Cabal, based on Lewis Carroll's children's novel character Alice. She has a seal that can release another Alice with full magic power from the torn body of the original Alice. She also has a unique magic ability known as "Live Adventures in Wonderland" (ライブアドベンチャーズインワンダーランド, Raibu Adobenchāzu in Wandārando), which is capable of influencing the real world by going on an "adventure" with someone to find new meanings, create new paths, and influence reality. Alice meets Toma Kamijo, whom she calls "Teacher", and accompanies him during the events related to the aftermath of Operation Handcuffs.

Pierce Aogami

Pierce Aogami (青髪 ピアス, Aogami Piasu) is one of Toma Kamijo's best friends and the official president of their class. His name is an aptronym based on his appearance (blue hair with ear piercings), with his true name remaining a secret to this day, but most of the admirers of his Indian Poker cards call him Blau (the German word for "blue").[10] He describes himself as a pervert, lolicon, stalker, and masochist, which brings him into troubles for doing things like stealing panties while roleplaying as a criminal at Academy City's Anti-Crime Orientation. Aogami has been questioned by Judgment 43 times, with the latest one involving Mī Konori and Kuroko Shirai during the Ichihanaran Festival.

Suzuran Aohoshi

Suzuran Aohoshi (青星 鈴蘭, Aohoshi Suzuran) is the assistant to Director Ryōta Kyōgoku of the second newly-built juvenile hall in Academy City and the head of its security. Aohoshi is revealed to be using the position as her cover to break out Kimi Shundan, her friend at an orphanage when she was a student, during the facility's jailbreak trial.

Karei Aōmi

Karei Aōmi (碧海 華麗, Aoumi Karei) is a college-aged woman belonging to the dark side of Academy City known as the Pet Breeder, who specializes in training dangerous insects and animals to attack a target while making it look like an accident. Aōmi is one of the casualties during Operation Handcuffs after she fell inside an enclosure filled with electric eels while in a fight against Shirai Kuroko.

Aradia

Aradia (アラディア) is a transcendent belonging to the secret magic cabal Bridge Builders Cabal, based on the character in the 1899 book Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches. Aradia plans to kill Toma Kamijo due to his influence on Alice Anotherbible, which prevents the latter from using her magic for the cabal's goal.

Ellen Arimura

Ellen Arimura (有村 絵恋, Arimura Eren) is a member of the Kamisato Faction who specializes in forensic science and chemistry. Arimura has analyzed the Sample Shoggoth virus that has infected Patricia Birdway.

Haruki Aritomi

Haruki Aritomi (有冨 春樹, Aritomi Haruki) is the leader of the organization STUDY who has shown animosity against espers due to them gaining more attention and recognition than his research results. Aritomi is involved in the organization's Chemicaloid Project.

Mebuki Asajimo

Mebuki Asajimo (朝霜 芽吹, Asajimo Mebuki) is a 14-year-old university professor in Academy City in the fields of low-temperature medicine, chemistry, and physics, and the twin sister of Saemi.

Saemi Asajimo

Saemi Asajimo (朝霜 冴美, Asajimo Saemi) is the twin sister of Mebuki who is the victim of the Cold Sleep Murder Case, where she has been frozen in a block of ice and left below an ice skating rink in Academy City's District 15. Asajimo is later safely unfrozen by her sister with Mikoto Misaka's assistance.

Kisa Asato

Kisa Asato (阿里 希茶, Asato Kisa) is a student of Tokiwadai Middle School belonging to the clique led by Misaki Shokuhō. Asato is originally a member of Reiri Hasekura's clique a year before joining Shokuhō's. She assigns Kiyoshi Kessai as Mikoto Misaka's roommate to observe her on behalf of Hasekura's clique. Since her investigation work for the clique has led to the discovery of the dark side of her schoolmates, Asato no longer enjoys eating her favorite food (pancake) at that time until she joins Shokuhō's clique.

Atsushi

Atsushi (アツシ) is an esper child who meets Mikoto Misaka looking for Kana Hazamaya's bag in the playground. Along with his friends, Atsushi makes fun of Misaka for wearing a short under her skirt.

Ma'aya Awatsuki

Ma'aya Awatsuki (泡浮 万彬, Awatsuki Ma'aya) is a student at Tokiwadai Middle School befriending Mitsuko Kongō and belonging to the school's swimming club. Awatsuki is a Level 3 esper with an ability called "Float Dial" (流体反発, Furōto Daiyaru), which allows her to manipulate the surrounding's buoyancy to lift heavy objects, walk on water without breaking its surface tension, and leap several meters.

Azumi

Azumi (アズミ) is a student at an unnamed elementary school in Academy City's District 13 and Fremea Seivelun's classmate. When their class argues about the existence of Santa Claus, Azumi brings up to Seivelun a German story about a black Santa Claus that kidnaps bad children. On Christmas Eve, she is seen with Seivelun telling her to not buy the Santa-catching kit as she sees it to be a normal bug-catching net unsold during summer or autumn.

Yoshio Baba

Yoshio Baba (馬場 芳郎, Baba Yoshio) is an operative of Academy City's dark side organization MEMBER who specializes in hacking and surveillance. He supports his leader the Professor by using animal-shaped robots while inside an emergency shelter. He has a keen insight into his opponent's esper ability and uses it to his advantage in fighting them. During the Daihasei Festival, Baba attempts to kidnap Misaka 10032, but his plan is thwarted by Mitsuko Kongō, Kinuho Wannai, Ma'aya Awatsuki, and Mikoto Misaka. During the uprising of several dark side organizations in the city, Baba watches the defeat of the Professor and Saraku on-screen and later gets trapped inside the shelter as the outside area is being flooded. The character's design is thinner in A Certain Magical Index III in contrast to his chubby appearance in A Certain Scientific Railgun T.

Balbina

Balbina (バルビナ, Barubina) is a magician known as the Magical Plant Master belonging to the Roman Catholic Church who sells souvenirs in Italy as her part-time job. She is being taken care of by Lidvia Lorenzetti, who reprimands her for ripping off customers with dubious items. Balbina meets Tōya Kamijo, who is on a business trip in the country, and she sells him a good-luck charm he is looking for.

Glencia Bailey

Glencia Bailey (グレンシア=ベイリー, Gurenshia Beirī) is a nun belonging to the Church of England who becomes the vessel for the summoning magic "Lucifer" after stealing the research about the magic at the church.

Barcelonan priest

[edit]

The unnamed Barcelonan priest is a member of the Roman Catholic Church who heads its local church in Barcelona, Spain, and is involved in Agnese Sanctis' investigation regarding the use of forensic cleaning, a method used to remove traces of an incident, in Nihili Padpois' restaurant. The priest learns that Padpois has come into contact with a curse and frames him with the forensic cleaning to be eliminated since he wants to keep Barcelona safe from curses and other impurities. The priest is defeated by Sanctis when she has dumped a supposed corpse infected with an authentic Voodoo curse on top of his head.

Bayloupe

Bayloupe (ベイロープ, Beirōpu) is the leader of the British magic cabal New Light. Bayloupe wields Gjallarhorn, a spiritual item similar to hearing aids with two vacuum tubes sticking out for each of her ears, and Steel Glove, a long metal rod with four blades attached to the end, which can be used together to partially use the thunder attribute of Thor. During the delivery of the lost Curtana Original sword for Princess Carissa, Bayloupe engages in a fight with Itsuwa in London until she manages to escape from her. She is later trapped underground inside the tunnel used by Necessarius for training and is imprisoned. During the British Halloween, Bayloupe receives power from Queen Elizard's spiritual artifact Union Jack and tells the rest of New Light to do what is best for the United Kingdom despite knowing their contribution to Carissa's coup d'état.

Beast girl

The unnamed beast girl (獣少女, kemono shōjo) is one of the girls who have approached a drunk Toma Kamijo following his return to Academy City after going missing during World War III. The beast girl requests Kamijo to make her purr and then follows him to his dormitory, where she introduces herself as the "new heroine", but she and the other girls are later persuaded by Leivinia Birdway's subordinates to leave.

Bellagi

Bellagi (ベラッギ, Beraggi) is a resident of the Elizalina Alliance of Independent Nations serving as one of Elizalina's bodyguards. He is with Elizalina during the attack of Fiamma of the Right in her office.

Allan Bennett

Allan Bennett (アラン=べネット, Aran Benetto) is a magician of the Golden Dawn cabal who acts as a teacher for Aleister Crowley. Bennett is responsible for revealing to Crowley the death of his future first daughter due to the sparks caused by the collision of phases, with the cabal's Hermetic-based magic as the frequent contributor, leading to her illness. Bennett then tells Crowley to kill him due to his membership with the cabal, although he is shown to have survived and lived as a Buddhist monk in the East under the name Swami Maitrananda (スワミ=マイトラナンダ, Suwami Maitorananda).

Edward Berridge

Edward Berridge (エドワード=ベリッジ, Edowādo Berijji) is a magical medicine specialist belonging to the Golden Dawn cabal and one of the few members of the cabal that Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers has fully trusted.

Ayles Bigant

Ayles Bigant (エールズ=ビッグアント, Ēruzu Bigguanto) is a participant of the Natural Selector tournament held in Eastern Europe's Baggage City. During the attack of several members of the Kihara family sent by Academy City in Baggage City, Bigant is killed by Enshū Kihara while hiding in a room wielding a semi-auto shotgun.

Otome Bisai

Otome Bisai (微細 乙愛, Bisai Otome) is a professor, referred to as an "adult upperclassman", who has recreated artificial microbes in her laboratory similar to the ones she detected from Mars. Bisai wields a black whip made of black leather as her weapon.

Bishop of St. Julian's Cathedral

The unnamed bishop of St. Julian's Cathedral is a member of the Anglican Church who has gained the position in the church's cathedral in London after providing Necessarius with personnel, primarily children. It turns out that the bishop has established a system where he set up circumstances that would result in the children's parents dying or abandoning them for them to become orphans and be provided to Necessarius.

BLOCK liaison

The BLOCK liaison is a member of Academy City's dark side handling one of its organizations called BLOCK. Following the defeat of the remaining BLOCK in the Reformatory by GROUP, he contacts the liaison for ITEM asking her to take down the quarantine on his organization's position and info for him to find them, but he is informed that he can no longer control BLOCK anymore since the organization's threat has gone.

Blue Stalker

Blue Stalker (ブルーストーカー, Burūsutōkā) is the name of an outlaw Defected player of Virtual-On game who pilots the Virtuaroid Cypher (RVR-42). He is the main antagonist of the crossover light novel and manga series A Certain Magical Virtual-On.

Bologna succubus

The Bologna succubus (ボロニイサキュバス, Boronii sakyubasu) is an unnamed transcendent belonging to the secret magic cabal Bridge Builders Cabal. She is one of the few demons recognized by the Italian government around 1468 following the case involving a brothel of succubi operated by a man in the Bologna region. She uses a magic spell called "Cold Mistress" (コールドミストレス, Kōrudo Misutoresu), which allows her to convert the target's pleasure signals into pain. The succubus has sided with Toma Kamijo in his fight against Aradia.

Biagio Busoni

Biagio Busoni (ビアージオ=ブゾーニ, Biājio Busōni) is a middle-aged bishop of the Roman Catholic Church and a magician who specializes in cross-related magic. He commands the Queen's Fleet, of which he leads its flagship The Queen of the Adriatic Sea, with a mission to destroy Academy City. Busoni's plan is put to a stop after Toma Kamijo and his allies infiltrated the fleet. He is later imprisoned in the Tower of London along with Lidvia Lorenzetti.

Carissa

Carissa (キャーリサ, Kyārisa) is the second daughter of Queen Elizard and the second princess of the British royal family who possesses an impressive understanding of military strategy and tactics. Wielding the original Curtana sword, Carissa stages a coup d'état along with the Knights of England against the British monarchy, leading to the British Halloween, to shift the power balance away from the growing influence of the Roman Catholic Church throughout Europe. She is later defeated by Toma Kamijo and his allies. During World War III, Carissa leads the British military forces in Dover Strait against the French forces led by the Maiden of Versailles. She later joins forces with the maiden to defeat Archangel Gabriel. She forces the archangel to retreat by ordering multiple surface-to-air missile attacks toward the Star of Bethlehem. Following the war, Carissa voluntarily imprisons herself in the Tower of London for her role in the British Halloween, but she is temporarily freed to aid the United Kingdom and its allies in defeating GREMLIN by staging an attack toward its base in Sargasso. She is later assigned to Denmark to capture Kamijo and Othinus but fails to do so. During the invasion of Crowley's Hazards in London, Carissa remains imprisoned in the tower and gives Orsola Aquinas advice on how to determine if a prisoner disguises themselves as one of the prison guards.

Ange Catacombs

Ange Catacombs (アンジュ・カタコンベ, Anju Katakonbe) is a maid belonging to the Anglican Church's Necessarius. During the invasion of Crowley's Hazards in London, Catacombs joins a team that is assigned to protect the British royal family heading toward Scotland.

Cendrillon

Cendrillon (サンドリヨン, Sandoriyon) is a French magician belonging to GREMLIN, with her name being based on the French word for the character Cinderella. Cendrillon uses the story of Cinderella to transform parts of it into an attack spell, but her magic ability has a time limit until midnight. On the onset of the invasion of Hawaii, Cendrillon is sent by GREMLIN to stop the bomb that Leivinia Birdway has set up in New Honolulu International Airport. She defeats Birdway's guards using the spell based on Cinderella's glass slipper, forcibly widening or reducing their feet sizes into the character's foot size of 22.5 centimetres (8.9 in). Cendrillon later survives Birdway ramming a jet fuel tanker toward her, but she is seen heavily bleeding after Saronia A. Irivika used a spell to force her into injuring herself to silence her. Cendrillon survives her predicament and is taken by American forces, but she manages to escape them and learns from confronting Marian Slingeneyer that GREMLIN does not intend to help her in turning the United States into a theocratic state. Cendrillon attacks Slingeneyer, but she gets defeated instead and is turned into a table inside Slingeneyer's room in Baggage City. During the Ichihanaran Festival in Academy City, Cendrillon's body is reconstructed with the help of an unaware Shizuri Mugino after the "ingredients" for her body parts were sent to her. She then encounters an injured Toma Kamijo, whom she needs for her revenge against GREMLIN. Upon learning that Kamijo has defeated Slingeneyer back in Baggage City, Cendrillon agrees to help him in soothing Fräulein Kreutune's hunger for Last Order's brain by creating a fake one from her leftover ingredients.

Chef

The unnamed chef (シェフ, shefu) is a member of Academy City's dark side organization Full Course. He has an esper ability called "Material Insect" (金属回虫, Materiaru Insakuto), which allows him to command metal wires from his fingertips. The demon has made a contract with Mathers intending to bring Crowley to his ruins.

Aleister Crowley (アレイスター・クロウリー, Areisutā Kurourī), born Edward Alexander Crowley (エドワード=アレクサンダー=クロウリー, Edowādo Arekusandā Kurōrī), is the founder of Academy City, based on the real-life English occultist of the same name. Crowley is originally a member of the magic cabal Golden Dawn in the 19th century until he stages a revolt against the cabal due to their Hermetic-based magic contributing to the phenomena that would result in his future first daughter's death, leading to the cabal's collapse. He soon meets his wife Rose Edith Kelly, who becomes the mother of their daughters Lilith and Laura Zaza. Following the predicted death of his first daughter, Crowley continues his magical research until he decides to give up magic and start over in his research with science and technology, resulting in him becoming an enemy of the magic side. Crowley is reported to have died in 1947, but he is revealed to have survived with the help of Heaven Canceller and is later brought to Japan where he begins to build Academy City. He resides in the Windowless Building and is confined upside down inside a life-support system created by Heaven Canceller. As the Board Chairman, Crowley has the final say on the city's internal affairs but usually leaves the citizen's welfare to the twelve board directors.

Crowley encounters Coronzon infiltrating the Windowless Building and is fatally wounded by the demon, causing him to release his many possibilities called Crowley's Hazards and take the form of a young silver-haired girl. She then leads Toma Kamijo, Accelerator, Shiage Hamazura, and others to London to find the demon's weakness. Following her battle with the reproduced Golden Dawn founder Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, Crowley confronts Coronzon at the luxury ship Queen Britannia previously owned by the British royal family. She finally defeats the demon at the cost of her life, prompting her to appoint Accelerator as the new Board Chairman of Academy City. Crowley eventually survives and possesses Coronzon's body.

She is also a volunteer caretaker for the Child Errors in Asunaro Park, where she shows her great affection towards children instead of her usual scary and fearsome nature.

Dummy Aureolus

The Dummy Aureolus (錬金の真似事, Aureorusu Dami) is a magical construct created by the original Aureolus Izzard according to his image to deter any intruders of the Misawa Cram School in Academy City, but the dummy claims himself to be the real Izzard. The dummy wields a chained dart for his alchemy-related ability called "Limen Magna" (瞬間錬金, Rimen Maguna), which turns the target into molten gold upon the weapon's contact. When Toma Kamijo and Stiyl Magnus infiltrate the school, the dummy is weakened by Kamijo's Imagine Breaker and injuries sustained from their fight, and later is incinerated by Magnus' fire magic.

Albert Dying

Dying plans to use the spiritual item Sickle of Saturn (the Roman mythology equivalent of the Greek's adamant sickle) in the Vatican City to bring forth the end of Christianity. He encounters the Anglican Church due to reports of multiple thefts in museums across the continent. Dying is later defeated with Agnese Sanctis, Lucia, and Angelene's efforts.

She is saved by Mikoto Misaka and her friends from Therestina Kihara Lifeline, who plans to use her and other children for an experiment involving Body Crystals. Edasaki later moves into Haru'ue's dormitory and transfers to Sakugawa Middle School.

Brunhild Eiktobel

Brunhild Eiktobel (ブリュンヒルド=エイクトベル, Buryunhirudo Eikutoberu) is a magician from a Finnish cabal who is born both as a Saint and a valkyrie. Due to the quality of being a Christian Saint, which is deemed to be foreign by the Norse cabals such as the Five Great Norse Societies, Eiktobel has been a target to kill from a young age, resulting in the deaths of people around her. She eventually begins her plan to replicate the Gungnir to save the boy Ceillier Flatley, whom she met while being imprisoned by the Five Great Norse Societies. Eiktobel destroys the Five Great Norse Societies for their involvement in the boy's comatose, leading to her encounter with Kaori Kanzaki. Eiktobel is defeated by Kanzaki and is brought into the Anglican Church's Necessarius.

Eiktobel agrees to cooperate with the church during World War III in exchange for them to drop the charges regarding the events surrounding Gungnir that resulted in a global magical terrorist attack. She is with an awakened Flatley in a hospital in northern Europe when artificial Valkyries sent by GREMLIN attack to retrieve the plans for Gungnir in her mind. Eiktobel joins Ollerus' group infiltrating Academy City to stop GREMLIN from capturing Fräulein Kreutune inside the Windowless Building. Eiktobel is later seen with Silvia during the manhunt of Toma Kamijo and Othinus in Denmark. She witnesses her fellow Saint beating Kamijo while preparing to kill Othinus.

During his stay in the city, Etzali is blackmailed to join the dark side organization GROUP until it dissolves at the end of World War III. His continuous use of Unabara's appearance has irked Xochitl.

Fiamma of the Right

He holds the symbol of miracles called "Holy Right" (聖なる右, Seinaru Migi), which can manifest a bird-like claw from his shoulder as his main form of attack. However, Fiamma is unable to use its full potential but believes that Toma Kamijo, Index, and Sasha Croitself hold the answer to his dilemma. Following his defeat during World War III, Fiamma is seen working with Ollerus.

Ceillier Flatley

Ceillier Flatley (セイリエ=フラットリー, Seirie Furattorī) is the boy who has tended to Brunhild Eiktobel during her captivity by the Five Great Norse Societies. Flatley is revealed to have been ordered by the magic cabal as the "refreshing ice water", similar to emotional support, for Eiktobel to make their torture effective, but he is later reported to have died by suicide due to his guilt of not saving her. Flatley is later revealed to have survived his attempted suicide and is in a Belgian hospital, but he is in a vegetative state due to blood loss from slits on his wrists. He is last seen in a hospital in northern Europe recuperating and being visited by Eiktobel.

Fleiss

Floris (フロリス, Furorisu) is a magician belonging to the cabal New Light. Her spiritual accessory is small dragon-like wings at her back. She joins him in jumping off the train to escape the guards and ends up floating on a nearby river, where the two are found by a scout from Amakusa-style Remix of Church. Floris becomes enraged at Kamijo for believing that she is brought back by him to the Amakusas, who had captured her earlier. Since then, Floris has grudge against Kamijo.

Emilie Fordia

Dion Fortune (ダイアン=フォーチュン, Daian Fōchun) is a magician belonging to the remnants of the Golden Dawn cabal. Her magic is aided by a black box called Archetype Processor, which provides unpredictable results yet is always in her favor. Despite being reproduced by Coronzon from tarot for the demon's fight against Aleister Crowley in London, Fortune later befriends Shiage Hamazura after being saved by his group. Following the events surrounding Coronzon and the incident involving Toma Kamijo's doppelgänger in Windsor Castle, Fortune is accepted by Queen Elizard as the new Archbishop of the Church of England under the watch of Princess Villian.

Freyja

Freyja (フレイヤ, Fureiya) is a magician belonging to GREMLIN, based on the Norse fertility goddess of the same name, who has taken the form of a fetus inside its mother's womb to control her body and save her from death. It wields a spiritual item called Brísingamen to summon creatures. During GREMLIN's invasion of Tokyo, Freyja summons Níðhöggr to harass the residents and intercept flights hovering over the city such as the plane being boarded by Toma Kamijo and his allies. She later fights Kamijo, Index, and Mikoto Misaka above a moving train but eventually gets defeated, returning the body's control to the mother.

Frillsand #G

Frillsand #G (フリルサンド#G, Furirusando #G) is an artificial ghost created by Drencher Kihara Repatri through the High Voltage Cutting method. Her development code stands for "Ghost". Frillsand has been taking care of the Child Errors that have been rescued by Repatri from Academy City's dark side.

Ryūzō Fugan

Ryūzō Fugan (不願 竜造, Fugan Ryūzō) is a general designer in Academy City who is mistaken as a weapons seller due to the majority of requests he received are for weapons designs. Fugan's latest design has been used to create a weapon, the auto-loading mortar, for killing Maika Tsuchimikado, unknowingly earning him Motoharu's wrath.

Seiri Fukiyose

Fukiyose has a crush on Kamijo but acts tsundere when in his presence, hating him for blaming his life on misfortunes. She is a health freak due to her frequent ordering of different health products from shopping channels.

Gabriel (神の力, Gaburieru) is one of the four archangels of God symbolizing water. It is accidentally called down to Earth due to the Angel Fall spell and takes the form of Sasha Croitsef, naming herself Misha Croitsef (ミーシャ=クロイツェフ, Misha Kuroitsefu). Croitsef intends to kill Toma Kamijo since she believes him to be the perpetrator behind the spell, but she later ends up returning to Heaven after the destruction of Kamijo's parent's house which had become the ritual location for the spell activation. During World War III, Gabriel is summoned back by Fiamma of the Right in its true archangel form and becomes an instrument to enable his Star of Bethlehem fortress. It supposedly returns to Heaven with Kamijo's efforts at the end of the war. Gabriel manifests again by the reproduced Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers to use it during his fight against Aleister Crowley.

Frederick Leigh Gardner (フレデリック=リー=ガードナー, Furederikku Rī Gādonā) is a magician belonging to the second faction within the Golden Dawn cabal known as the Sphere. Gardner's magic attacks are aided by an oil lamp capable of producing illusionary fires.

Frau Halveria (フラウ=ハルベリア, Furau Haruberia) is a magician known for studying the Ceremony of Ba Moun curse to find an easy way to contact God. Halveria fails to control the curse's demon and forces to bait bike delivery workers to her location as sacrificial pawns to avoid being devoured.

Darris Hewlane

Darris Hewlane (ダリス=ヒューレイン, Darisu Hyūrein) is the Vice President of the United States who has allied with Anna Sprengel, becoming Citrinitas (黄色化, Kitorinitasu) as his new name and obtaining the magic of the same name capable of dissolving and absorbing a target covered with sand.

Aili Hexenphobia

Aili Hexenphobia (アイリ=ヘクセンフォビア, Airi Hekusenfobia) is the prime minister of an unnamed country in the Pacific Islands that is a member of the Pound Economy—a group of forty countries that are affiliated to England. Hexenphobia confides with other members to free their countries from England's influence and thus plans to destroy London with a purchased St. George-based spell from Cynthia Exment.

Aisa Himegami

Aisa Himegami (姫神 秋沙, Himegami Aisa) is a miko-wearing Gemstone with an ability called "Deep Blood" (吸血殺し, Dīpu Buraddo), which attracts vampires with her sweet blood scent. Himegami's life becomes miserable after her power killed her family and friends, causing her to arrive in Academy City for a cure and meet Aurelous Izzard. After Toma Kamijo rescued her from Izzard, Himegami is given a Celtic cross necklace by the Anglican Church's Necessarius to restrain her power, moves into Komoe Tsukuyomi's apartment, and transfers from Kirigaoka Girls' Academy to Kamijo's high school. Himegami begins showing feelings for Kamijo, but she jokingly compares his life to a dating sim because of his involvement with other girls. A Certain Magical Index author Kazuma Kamachi wrote the character as "a girl who couldn’t become the story's heroine".[45]

Annie Horniman

Annie Horniman (アニー・ホーニマン, Anī Hōniman) is a magician belonging to the Golden Dawn cabal who considers Mina Mathers as her best friend. Horniman wields two black-and-white clubs representing Boaz and Jachin. She is later reproduced by Coronzon through a tarot-based grimoire and ventures into the streets of London along with William Wynn Westcott, during which they encounter and defeat Saiji Tatemiya, Itsuwa, and members of the Amakusa-style Remix of Church.

Aureolus Izzard

Aureolus Izzard (アウレオルス=イザード, Aureorusu Izādo) is an 18-year-old alchemist who leads the Misawa Cram School in Academy City. His magic name is Honos628 and he possesses an alchemy-related spell called "Ars Magna" (黄金練成, Arusu Maguna), which allows him to turn his thoughts into reality by uttering them in words and is heavily reliant on his strong belief and state of mind. Izzard has made a deal with the Anglican Church to smuggle his written grimoires for them since the Roman Catholic Church where he belongs is not using his books to help people, resulting in him becoming Index's partner. Izzard leaves the Roman Catholic Church after failing to save Index from frequent memory erasure and goes into hiding while researching vampires as a way to save her, leading him to meet Aisa Himegami. Izzard is defeated by Toma Kamijo and has his appearance changed by Stiyl Magnus to avoid detection from the Roman Catholic Church.

Antseka S. Kfark (アンツェカ=S=クファルク, Antsueka S. Kufuaruku) is a Russian tank commander during World War III. Kfark is stationed in central Russia when Academy City forces are closing in, realizing that the country has no chance of winning the war against the city's technological prowess.

Yuītsu Kihara

Yuītsu Kihara (木原 唯一, Kihara Yuītsu) is the negotiator sent to Baggage City by Academy City to deal with the Science Guardian and a researcher responsible for influencing Hisako Yakumi in developing the Agitate Halation Project. Yuītsu is always seen taking care of Nōkan Kihara, whom she addresses as "Sensei". She has a grudge against Kakeru Kamisato after learning about his involvement in Nōkan's apparent death, causing the citywide Elements attack in Academy City. Yuītsu's fate becomes unknown after her controlled Kamisato Faction turned against her following Kamisato's rescue from banishment to the "new world" by Toma Kamijo, Fran Karasuma, and Luca Toyama.

George Kingdom

George Kingdom (ジョージ=キングダム, Jōji Kingudamu) is the unofficial leader of the Stargate Project during the Cold War intended to develop esper powers in the United States. Following the project's failure, Kingdom has been assigned to lead other projects under the watch of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Anna Kingsford

Anna Kingsford (アンナ=キングスフォード, An'na Kingusufōdo) is a magician who serves as the teacher of Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers and William Wynn Westcott long before the two establish the Golden Dawn cabal. Being dead for more than a century, Kingsford's body is later retrieved in Miyashita Ark, a shopping mall in Shibuya, and reanimated by Aleister Crowley. During the battle between Toma Kamijo and Aradia, Kingsford confronts Anna Sprengel and seals her into parchment charms in a film can.

Mitsuko Kongō

Mitsuko Kongō (婚后 光子, Kongō Mitsuko) is a transfer student at Tokiwadai Middle School and a Level 4 esper with an ability called "Aero Hand" (空力使い, Earo Hando), which allows her to create a powerful gust of wind to propel any objects she touches like a missile. Kongō is seen carrying a fan that she uses for her ability and has a pet boa constrictor named Ekaterina. She shows pride in herself despite being a new student in the school, but she is ignorant of common routines such as finding directions and kitchen-related work.

Fräulein Kreutune

Fräulein Kreutune (フロイライン=クロイトゥーネ, Furoirain Kuroitūne) is a mysterious woman who has existed for a long time and has been imprisoned in Academy City's Windowless Building by Aleister Crowley. According to the artificial intelligence Reading Thoth 78, Kreutune is a life form but genetically a human, with a thought pattern similar to the simplified version of an insect. She later gains a new function to eat another brain to gain its abilities, thus setting her eyes toward Last Order until her hunger instinct is satisfied by a fake brain made from Cendrillon's leftover "ingredients". Kreutune reunites with Last Order and Fremea Seivelun, her first friends she met following her early escape from the Windowless Building perpetrated by Toma Kamijo and Thor.

Seria Kumokawa

Seria Kumokawa (雲川 芹亜, Kumokawa Seria) is a third-year student at Toma Kamijo's high school who serves as Tsugutoshi Kaizumi's advisor and the leader of his Use of Force Unit. She is known for wearing the school-issued sailor uniform that shows her navel between the blouse and skirt. Kumokawa knows Kamijo even before his memory loss and has regrets about having limited control over his frequent involvement in dangerous situations. She has romantic feelings for him, causing a rift between her and Misaki Shokuhō. Kumokawa does not have special powers yet her skills can rival Shokuhō's esper ability since she defeats her opponents using intelligence and psychology.

Eiker Lugoni (エーカー=ルゴーニ, Ēkā Rugōni) is a French terrorist who is in cohort with Musset in hijacking the Sky Bus 365 passenger plane. Lugoni sneaks inside the plane's cargo hold while it is in a stopover in Paris.
