Local elections were held in the Province of Laguna on May 14, 2001, as part of the 2001 Philippine general election. Voters selected candidates for all local positions: a municipal/city mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the vice-governor, governor and representatives for the four districts of Laguna.

Provincial elections[edit]

Gubernatorial election[edit]

Incumbent Teresita Lazaro is running for a first three-year term. Her main opponent is Alberto Lina, the younger brother of Jose Lina Jr.

Vice gubernatorial election[edit]

Incumbent Gat-Ala Alatiit didn't run for a full three-year term and instead take a break in politics. Incumbent Board Member Danilo Fernandez is running for his position, his main opponent is Ma. Alita Mercado.
