Information icon Hello, I'm Dcirovic. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to List of longest-serving soap opera actors— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Qantas, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Jetstreamer Talk 14:02, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reference errors on 28 May

[edit]

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:28, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Carroll (actor)

[edit]

I undid your edit to Peter Carroll (actor) as it was unreferenced. Adding references is how we ensure that content is valid. Without references, a reader can not easily validate information and there is no presumption of accuracy. This is covered by the Wikipedia policy of wp:verifiability. Please wp:cite your edits with wp:reliable sources. See Help:Referencing for beginners, Help:Citation Style 1 and wp:Inline citations. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 02:43, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries, please

[edit]

Information icon Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks!

BTW: Fixed the ref error. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 02:55, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wall of text

[edit]

Would you please format Don Crosby into paragraphs and maybe a couple of sections? It is a wall of text. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 09:39, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Editorializing

[edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Murder_of_Anita_Cobby shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Please refrain from Editorializing articles, e.g saying "Genocide is evil" is Editorializing, you should state xyz says genocide is evil— Preceding unsigned comment added by Eng.M.Bandara (talkcontribs) 07:25, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! 220 of Borg 09:21, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. ☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 19:31, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Jane Grey (actress) has been reverted.
Your edit here to Jane Grey (actress) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.flickr.com/photos/19603157@N03/2468437925/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Adding dates to residents

[edit]

Adding dates to notable residents is unnecessary and largely irrelevant and can be misleading. There is no real precedent for this. Take a look at List of people from Sheffield or List of people from Leeds, etc. Also, you need to be careful with your formatting, it seems inconsistent at best. --Rob Sinden (talk) 15:34, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please reuse references

[edit]

See WP:NAMEDREFS. Please don't tell people to go find it for themselves. That is not citing a source and makes wp:verifiability difficult. A simple explanation: <ref> *Ref info* </ref> Change to <ref name="Banzo"> *Ref info* </ref> "Banzo" is a name you give. Then to reuse, just add <ref name="Banzo"/> Order is unimportant reuse may go before or after. Don't forget the slash "/" Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 08:37, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
