[edit]Hello, I'm Moops. I noticed that you recently removed content from Mountain Lakes, New Jersey without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. — Moops ⋠T⋡ 01:03, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Carolina2k22. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Music for the Masses seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Carolina2k22 • (talk) • (edits) 02:27, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Engr. Smitty Werben 04:18, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

Pronunciation of Chatham and Mendham
[edit]As in this edit, I agree with your pronunciation, but none of your edits for pronunciation have a source, nor could I find one. Without the required references, the material will be removed. Alansohn (talk) 22:09, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for reaching out. Question for you regarding a change on Kinnelon, New Jersey page. Including "upscale" to describe Smoke Rise was on the page for years; why did you think it was necessary to remove something that is accurate and was on the site for many years. Just curious. 108.5.157.195 (talk) 22:14, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- This has been an ongoing challenge in Morris County and revolves around making statements that are verifiable and consistent. A place may be a borough or it can be the northernmost city in a county, all of which are stable facts that are readily verifiable;if it's true now, it will likely be true for many decades into the future and will be true even if the source was decades old. That a community is rich, wealthy or upscale poses a far greater challenge. Upscale compared to what? What is the threshold. It may have been true at one point, but is it affluent now? In this edit to the article for Convent Station, New Jersey, you characterized the neighborhood as affluent based on a source quoting 1970 census data. Being a borough or the northernmost city in a county is an enduring characteristic that may well belong in a lead section. Claims about affluence need a clear source that explains the derivation and that cites the time period where the statement was true. Merely describing a place as "an affluent community" provides a misleading sense of permanence that may no longer be true. This best belongs in a demographics section, where the necessary context and sourcing can be best provided. Alansohn (talk) 23:42, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- I understand the claims pertaining to Convent Station but I don't think the removal of "upscale" from Smoke Rise information is justified. It is a private, gated community known for upscale, luxurious housing. I will say that you are indeed correct that making a statement regarding Convent Station being upscale/wealthy/affluent can be misleading; however, something along the lines of a private, gated community like Smoke Rise, located in a relatively affluent/high income town like Kinnelon doesn't seem inappropriate or misleading. It is a very prestigious place to live (Smoke Rise) and definitely appeals to an upscale base of residents with high incomes. I am not sure if you are aware, but Smoke Rise has a board that has to approve new buyers looking to be afforded the privilege to live in/own a home in Smoke Rise. I understand Kinnelon may not be the richest suburb in New Jersey or Morris County for that matter, but it certainly has its share of upscale and luxurious homes specifically and historically speaking in Smoke Rise. How can the term "upscale" be rectified on the Kinnelon, New Jersey page where it previously was included? I would appreciate your help/guidance. 108.5.157.195 (talk) 04:09, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
