Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, such as the ones you made to Vermont. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Here are some links to pages you may find useful:

You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:

Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a minimum number of days and made a minimum number of edits.

If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (209.166.108.199) is used to identify you instead.

I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).

Happy editing! HopsonRoad (talk) 02:59, 24 February 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Awesome Aasim. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Nordic people—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Aasim 22:34, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
@Awesome Aasim: This was not an experiment, nor anything else meriting template:uw-vandalism1 - it was the addition of an alternative name mentioned in the linked article. Thanks! 209.166.108.199 (talk) 22:38, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
Hah, good catch! Next time, you can give a source so it does not get mistaken as unconstructive. :) Aasim 22:42, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Unblock request

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I've been editing Wikipedia for a while now, but I'm seriously puzzled here. I can see that NinjaRobotPirate is the admin who took this action, but I'm not able to find the reason and whether it's connected to my edits or someone else's edits with an IP address close enough to mine. When I visit the current blocks link at the bottom of my contributions page, I see that there are no current blocks. I also don't see a block for my IP address - or for a range containing my IP address - in the list of this user's blocks. So... am I blocked and unblocked at the same time, or is the software glitching? Either way, unless there's a specific issue with my edits that you wish to raise, can you please unblock my IP address? 209.166.108.199 (talk) 04:13, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:

I see no block on this IP address, which first suggests to me that you are using a VPN or proxy to edit; you will need to turn this off, clear your browser's cache, and wait 24 hours to edit. The other possibility is that a block on an account led to an autoblock of this IP addres, in which case we would need to know the account name in order to help you further. In any event, without further information, there is no block to lift. 331dot (talk) 07:14, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

331dot I think I see now. The message I see when trying to edit mentions the IP range "107.77.219.0/24", which was likely assigned to me when using a mobile hotspot for a while yesterday. You explained that autoblocks carry over from registered accounts; perhaps they carry over from IP addresses too. I understand that when I clear my cookies and wait 24 hours, the autoblock should cease to be effective - please let me know if I've got anything wrong. 209.166.108.199 (talk) 11:54, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
That should take care of it. The cookies cause Wikipedia to "think" you are still on the other IP. 331dot (talk) 12:48, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Talk:Ilhan Omar, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 16:18, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Drmies this was not a test edit. If there was something you didn't understand, you could have asked, instead of reverting with the edit summary "What are you doing?" 209.166.108.199 (talk) 12:18, 26 March 2021 (UTC) Your revert also happened, for no good reason, to erase my comments in response to an ongoing discussion on that talk page. 209.166.108.199 (talk) 12:21, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
