Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Tara Platt has been reverted.
Your edit here to Tara Platt was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvfDlPAXlL0) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. A tag has been placed on your user page, User:4GwQ/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:55, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is my journalistic pen name and I have upcoming articles in major publications under my pen name.[1] We are also listed on Open Critic has journalist[2] 4GwQ (talk) 17:17, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Wikipedia is not a directory of podcasts where they "list" themselves, that's considered promotional. This is an encyclopedia where typically independent editors write about topics they take note of, summarizing what independent reliable sources say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. Wikipedia is not interested in what a subject wants to say about itself or what it considers to be its own history. Not every podcast merits a Wikipedia article. Please review conflict of interest. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term. edit about your podcast. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road for your Wikipedia career. If you want to be a general contributor and edit about topics unrelated to your podcast, like science or math or the history of your country or Joe Biden, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:49, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I was just trying to post our podcast on Wikipedia like many other podcasts are done. Our podcast is well known in the entertainment industry and it has been quoted in major publications [3] including my interactions with Phil Spencer. I thought it sounded from a neutral point as I copied a similar layout for Joe Rogan's podcast. I am not trying to spam, or use it as a self promotion. I just wanted to have our podcast [4] listed like hundreds of others

Decline reason:

There's already an open unblock above. There is no need to open more. SQLQuery me! 18:35, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thank you for your in-depth explanation 331. I understand from your explanation that one cannot post an article about one's own self. It has to be an independent editor not associated with the subject or source. Your explanation has been the best explanation so far and gives me a better understanding how Wikipedia operates.
To better understand even a politician or candidate cannot make their own page. It's done by independent editors not associated with the source because it has to be neutral. So even though I was a political official CFO of the Florida Pirate Party i still could not make a page about it. Someone else unrelated would have to, if it was deemed worthy.
I think I understand how this works now. As far as Wikipedia career it's all volunteerism from what I understand. I am involved in too many things offline to have another career with non profit fundraisers and bringing awareness to accessibility in gaming. I was just looking to contribute where I can and add to pages. Some of my friends, political, industry professionals, and Hollywood stars are listed on here but now I realize I can not contribute to those pages either or upload images I have rights to and make them open under creative commons.
Where there is neutral stuff that I am not involved in personally or my friends in an industry are not involved in personally I will look for ways to contribute there.
I do appreciate your explanation and the links. I read through what you posted and it makes sense how the rules work. It is up to you, the admins if you decide to unblock me or not. I can tell you from what I learned and understand now I will only contribute on things I am not involved in, friends are involved in, and be 100% neutral. Thank you for your time.

Accept reason:
