Your draft article, Draft:Hassan Omar

[edit]

Hello, AgnesAbah. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Hassan Omar".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 04:00, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

I don't understand the category that you created (Category:Women Do News). "Women Do News" is a catchy name for a project, but it is not appropriately named to communicate meaning to readers. What's also concerning is that you've added many articles to Category:WikiProject Women Do News. A WikiProject is not an appropriate category for an article. Please undo your category edits. Schazjmd (talk) 00:03, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your correction, do you advise i use (Category:Women Do News) instead for the project we are working on? and please how do i undo Category:WikiProject Women Do News AgnesAbah (talk) 00:12, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Go to the edit history for each article that you added the category to, and undo or revert your edit.
Projects can be added to article talk pages. Don't use administrative project categories on article pages. Schazjmd (talk) 00:13, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All of these articles should be categorized on their talk pages, by using the Women Do News Project banner, and they appear to be categorized in that way already. We do not use WikiProject categories on articles themselves, only on their talk pages. The categories on the articles should all be removed. —David Eppstein (talk) 00:13, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ok AgnesAbah (talk) 00:18, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like David Eppstein has undone your edits for you and both categories are cleared of articles, so it's all good now. Schazjmd (talk) 00:32, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Women Do News indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 01:17, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Liz sorry for my late response i created this Category:Women Do News for a volunteer group i belong and our aim is to write article about underepresented female Journalist on wikipedia this is our project page on meta https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Women_Do_News still a work in progress and our website is https://womendonews.org/ we have a Category:WikiProject Women Do News articles and i intend to re create Category:Women Do News and promise to populate this time not leaving it empty AgnesAbah (talk) 22:17, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the messages above. Don't use categories for a project on articles. You can add a project banner to article talk pages. Schazjmd (talk) 22:25, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thats not what i want to do this time i just want to create a category that will contain artcles about articles we have added so far to wikipedia i dont intend to use Category for a project take for example Category:Countries in Africa that just contains articles about countries in Africa but if its not allowed i wont create it
Thank you AgnesAbah (talk) 22:43, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DB G7?

[edit]

Hi AgnesAbah, I was wondering if you wanted to add {{db-g7}} to delete your userpage on the English Wikipedia, because I saw on Meta Wiki that your user page is more detailed there. Once you delete your user page on this wikipedia, It should display the Meta Wiki user page as the normal user page here, just like at igl:User:AgnesAbah. If you wanted, you could also add this

This user has administrator rights on the Igala Wikipedia. (verify igl)

on meta:User:AgnesAbah just for people on the Igala Wikipedia to be aware. Regards, 48JCL 22:56, 22 June 2024 (UTC) By the way you do not have to, but many admins on any wikipedia add it to their userpage.[reply]

Thank you for your message and for pointing that out. I will consider adding {{db-g7 to delete my user page on the English Wikipedia so that it displays my more detailed Meta Wiki user page, i will also be adding the note regarding my administrator rights on the Igala Wikipedia to my Meta user page. regards. Your contributed article, (Nigerian Name)

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, (Nigerian Name). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Ameh (Nigerian name). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Ameh (Nigerian name). If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ForsythiaJo (talk) 15:51, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message i didn't know it was created initially, i will really love someone to review my article before going live because am working on a project creating Nigerian names on Wikipedia, and i wont want to go aganst English Wikipedia, guidelines and Policy AgnesAbah (talk) 16:06, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
