Welcome!

Hello, Ark2, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as J. Scott Turner, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Oo7565 (talk) 18:42, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on J. Scott Turner requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Oo7565 (talk) 18:42, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for cleaning out the peacock words on J. Scott Turner; it reads much better now! I noticed you are only are only using sources by the author himself. Although primary sources can be helpful, they are often biased. Please consider adding some secondary sources to the article. Take a look at WP:RS for information on reliable sources. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia, and I look forward to seeing the article improve! --Odie5533 (talk) 21:27, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ark2, Odie5533 placed a tag on this article indicating to readers and other editors that the references were entirely primary sources. You subsequently removed this tag without addressing that issue. Of most concern to me is the fact that you accompanied that removal with the edit summary "removed references to primary sources" which to me would suggest that you had addressed that issue and so could be construed as slightly misleading. Tags are generally placed with good reason and it's therefore considered best practice to either make a note on the talk page about the reason for their removal if you simply disagree with them. They shouldn't really be removed without either doing that or fixing the problems that they highlight. Thanks danno 20:39, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for adding the extra refs. danno 19:11, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And thank you for your positive words. As you can see, I'm a complete novice, but learning a lot by making a few mistakes. . . . Ark2 (talk) 02:42, 9 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Microbes Mind Forum has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable organization lacking GHits and GNEWS of substance.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. reddogsix (talk) 15:38, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Zann Gill with this edit. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Removal of AfD Tags

[edit]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Zann Gill. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. reddogsix (talk) 17:52, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did at Zann Gill, you may be blocked from editing. Stop removing AfD tags. If you continue your disruptive editing you will be banned from editing or creating articles. reddogsix (talk) 17:58, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your missive on Collaborative intelligence on my talk page; Stuartyeates (talk) 02:06, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

StuartEates – Thanks for your response. But frankly I'm doing a PhD late in life while holding a senior position. I don't have time. I'll do a little to clean up that article, maybe post occasional info re what's going on in my knowledge domain. That's all. Ark2 (talk) 18:48, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't edit other's comments on talk pages for content

With the edit [1] you changed the substantive content of my comment on your talk page. Please don't. I invite you to read Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines. Stuartyeates (talk) 20:15, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Microbes Mind Forum

[edit]

Hello Ark2. With regard to your question about the above article, as it has been deleted I can's see it and so can't offer much in the way of opinion as to the content or the refs. My only suggestions would be to familiarise yourself with the notability guidelines linked to in the speedy deletion notice above and try and address the notability issue with appropriate references in your sandbox, prior to moving the article into article-space. If you're still in doubt about whether the refs are sufficient and the notability guidelines met, then ask someone at the New contributors' help page or put {{helpme}} on this page and ask whoever shows up to give the article a quick lookover to gauge their opinion on it. Looking at the deletion discussion it also appears that there was some concern that you may be in some way connected to Zann Gill and the potential confilct of interest that would bring in writing objectively about them or their work, so you may need to clarify your position there too. Best of luck! danno 20:20, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

A wp:consensus was reached a few weeks ago for this page. see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Piero_Scaruffi#Neutrality You have to respect what's been decided and not erase what is already present in the article. Judging by your edits on other articles, you may be a relative of this scientist. This is not encouraged by our community. Anyway, if you erase once again some parts already discussed in the talk, the administrator "Sergecross73" who helped to get this consensus, will be contacted. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited John Glanville Gill, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Union Theological Seminary. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
