Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Baelzvuv, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to Dyke March does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Western Laval High School into Draft:Chomedey Polyvalent High School. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:27, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:CPHSLOGO.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:CPHSLOGO.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — JJMC89(T·C) 07:22, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your new article on Guardians of the Children Canada. Note that it is currently an "orphan" meaning that no other Wikipedia articles link TO it. This makes the article tough to find for interested readers. See WP:DE-ORPHAN for pointers.

File:Coat of Arms Chomedey, Laval, Quebec.jpg

[edit]

Hello. Where do you know that Canadian official items are not subject to copyright?
And, in order not to write twice, can you provide evidence that this coat of arms was published before 1972? — Ирука13 11:19, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
It's just the images for the old cities on the island of Laval.
The images come from a city archive with images from pre-1965. The city has the images on it's website on a section dedicated to the towns from pre-1965
https://www.laval.ca/histoire-et-patrimoine/Pages/Fr/quartier-avant-1965.aspx
The image is located here
"Histoire et patrimoine>Histoire de Laval>Mon quartier avant 1965>Chomedey"
https://www.laval.ca/histoire-et-patrimoine/Pages/Fr/chomedey.aspx
All the cities in Laval were amalgamated in 1965, so the emblems for each old city was "retired" and are not in the heraldry registry as well, they were replaced with the City logo and 1 Coat of arms for the new city.
https://www.gg.ca/en/heraldry/public-register
while going back to get this information, I noticed there might be a problem with this image
File:Blason_ville_ca_Laval_(Québec).svg
P7 states: The coat of arms for the new city of Laval was adopted on May 5, 1975

I adjusted the license for the file.
As for possible problems with the modern version, most likely there will not be any: according to c:COM:COA, only derivative images, the original of which is a copyrighted image, may have additional rights. // If the image was not created by adapting an existing one, but was drawn based only on a verbal description, it's ok. — Ирука13 07:03, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
